When I said 'Jello slapping against jello' I meant like slapping water. Not the sound that occurs from the all the water coming back down but the initial contact between the water...

If you trust your dog to come back even if it really freaks out, let it out one night when you hear the sound. It'll probably run towards it and you'll know what it is. And if worst comes to worst, you have a (hopefully) semi-vicious animal on your side.

Why dont you try looking up what animals live in your area and then hearing the cries of the animals that might be causing it.
