You should have gone early in the morning, I don't recommend going at night due to fatigue issues though.

What peak hour traffic is on a Saturday? I was falling sleep around 3pm, I was wide awake from the time I left back home, at 10pm to an hour after I got back, which was 3am, I'm more awake at night then during the day.
Also, I hit traffic, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy before I got anywhere near D.C., in fact, once we got on the exit towards I395, it was smooth sailing, D.C. to college park was a breeze, it was basically northern virginia that was the fucking hell.

Before when my family and I used to go on vacations, that happened to us
