There are already games in development that take advantage of the 3GS and iTouch 3G's more powerful performance. Also, the majority of the games released for the iPhone are frankly just shovelware (although I wouldn't say the PSP and the DS aren't suffering as well...), and the iPhone OS does lack major developers.
There's nothing wrong with Apple's advertising at this point, because there are no games right now that exclusively take advantage of the 3GS/iTouch 3G's more powerful graphics. That will obviously change in the future.

But they also stated in the Keynote they're only starting to attract "mainstream" developers. That graph was for the sake of showing the opportunities the App Store provided even for these individual developers like Demiforce (who made Trism and earnt a few hundred thousand dollars over it).
Also, Apple didn't expect so many games for the App Store, and only decided to put their focus into gaming with the iPod Touch because of the overwhelming number of games that got submitted.

Make no mistake, you write just as much if not more than I do. And if you did read my post, you'd know I don't have a problem with people using ipods. I was criticizing Apple's subpar and lackluster effort with their ipods this year. That's something completely different from you or me using an ipod.

Yeah, that amazing 99% satisfaction rate from a survey of just 200 people that compared to the Pre's even smaller 40 surveyed, definitely proper surveying going on over there. My point was that despite those numbers, there are various features that Apple holds back and releases one at a time, one iteration at a time. Solid business model maybe, but only to the unknowing masses. Who knows, maybe next year they'll be advertising a camera and improved SQ. In any case, even if I buy a different player, it doesn't mean that I can't care about other players.

Didn't watch the keynote since I was in China at the time with access to a slow comp that couldn't play video. Even now that I'm back home, I still don't want to watch it, just reading the coverage of it was more than enough. If it's market penetration with money being the issue, why did they withhold the camera upgrade to the higher priced models? Because "it's a great gaming machine" and doesn't need it, just like the PSP and DSi that it's supposedly better than, at least according to Apple.

Again, give it some time.The wii does have an accelerometer, it's called the motion-plus, and it makes up for its mediocre hardware with gameplay. If that one feature is what's going to give Apple an edge, sorry, it's been taken already, and the PS3 has it as well. The Wii can simply put it to better use for games. That's my opinion at least, I got tired of playing with my friend's accelerometer games on his iphone after 10 minutes.
I think I've made my point that this year Apple's ipods are a disappointment. It's essentially been just a typical inevitable price drop and refreshment.
