Careful, this is getting close to an Apple-bashing thread.
I think it's OK. Tamajin is mostly voicing his opinions about the new iPods, and not at Apple itself. I think that's alright in the specific thread.
Also, I think he'll stop as long as I stop replying, so this will stop now with this being my last post regarding him in this thread.

Yeah, just because it's negative it's trolling, right? If you take the time to read them, many of them ha e valid points. Apple being underrated on the Internet isn't much of a surprise, people that actually discuss things on the internet would at least be thinking about what they're buying.
I do take time to read them, just like I'm reading your wall of text right now.
-Insert my final 2 paragraph of this post here-

No seriously, just do a quick google search and you'll find plenty of things about it being bad if you don't believe me. One site with 20 people don't equal a majority. And even from the site that you linked me to, in the first post, there's a ipod sound quality measurement that confirms that ipod sound isn't up to par with the competition. Btw, I do plan to get a Zune in the coming months. I'm long tired of my nano 2g, and I actually do hear a difference in sound quality when using the same headphones on my computer (a pair of sennheiser's albeit being a sport version).
As I said in my last paragraph, if
you can hear a difference, then you can get yourself another player. As far as I know, I can't tell a difference, and nor can most people out there. I admitted that the crap earphones that most people use doesn't show distortion if it exists, but iPods have quite the high satisfaction rate. It's impossible to quote sources, you might as well just Google "iPod Satisfaction Rate", and scroll past the first 3 pages which is about the 3GS's 99% satisfaction rate (which as far as I know, doesn't play music any better than any of the iTouches).
You did mention a
Zune. Then go for it. In fact, the upcoming Zune HD doesn't seem that bad as far as I can see.

Just because it's a favorite doesn't mean it's the best product out there. That's something I'm sure you'd say about Windows being the "favorite of the mast majority" as well. Apple being the market leader in the pmp area doesn't mean that they can just do whatever the hell they want and get away with it. The competition is making better products than them, but Apple is content to ride on their popularity instead of competing to give consumers the best choice for their money.
As I constantly say, people are free to choose what they buy. I don't like Windows, but that's not what the majority thinks. Frankly, I don't care at all and I can't be more satisfied by my Mac. I have no interest in arguing what's the "best". To me, that is the iPod and Mac OS X in both cases. To you, it might be a Zune and Windows. I have no problems with that. I don't see why people like you even bother arguing that one platform is "superior". If you're satisfied with it, then why try to bring the other one down? That's evangelism.

No, I don't think I'm being biased, just making an observation. Pretty sure you didn't notice, but the 8gb ipod touch isn't updated according to Apple themselves -- just check the store. If they're selling it alongside the newer versions advertised as "a great gaming machine," I assume that it's considered a gaming console as well, unless Apple is just bullshitting us. And according to Apple, premature console my ass, they think it's full fledged if they're going to post that ridiculous graph of the amount of games on the three devices. Hell you even posted that picture yourself.
I watched the Keynote, and they specifically mentioned your point about the 8GB. I think you should watch it before commenting, or watch it again more carefully if you've seen it already. Why does the iPhone 3G still exist even with the superior 3GS? Obviously because they need to reach the market that isn't willing to put down the cash. Same reason here.
There are
already games in development that take advantage of the 3GS and iTouch 3G's more powerful performance. Also, the majority of the games released for the iPhone are frankly just shovelware (although I wouldn't say the PSP and the DS aren't suffering as well...), and the iPhone OS does lack major developers.
There's nothing wrong with Apple's advertising at this point, because there are no games right now that exclusively take advantage of the 3GS/iTouch 3G's more powerful graphics. That will obviously change in the future.

I for one can't imagine playing better games that involve my thumbs blocking a third of the screen because I have to control it and the accelerometer, although nice, has flaws that prevent it from being a good portable console (eg. no zero point setting, tilting to control many games will wear off after a bit).
Well, the Wii's mediocre hardware and massive bundles of shovelware did not stop it from becoming one of the fastest selling consoles of all time. For that same reason, I also have a 360. I carry a DS as well for that purpose. The iPhone OS right now does lack good games, but the accelerometer is also something that both the other platforms lack. This allows it to have unique games that the other two won't get, just like what the Wii is doing. Again, give it some time.

Honestly from all your posts about Apple, you're essentially a loyal follower that just accepts whatever bs they give you and justify it with absurd and/or flawed reasoning.
If that's how you interpret my thinking, then so be it. To me, what I say makes perfect sense and it would seem to me that you're simply one of those many who are blind to the truth.
Of course, that is exactly who I am in your eyes. Our minds obviously do not synchronize and there's no point in discussing this further, because I have nothing against you using another player. If you have a problem with me using an iPod, then feel free to respond. However, I've said all I need to say, and I won't be replying further. This is a waste of my time, and yours.
