New Problem. Needs help,

So I'm going to HAVE to get a new laptop after certain problems with Dell. But to make sure it doesn't break this time I'm going to spend a little more on it. So what I'm basically asking is I need a good laptop that
1. comes from a good company
2. has great customer service
3. Thats not Dell.
4. That can download music,steam videos, use programs, and play games (like Maple Story)
5. Not a Mac or Desktop (No room for a Desktop)
I dont mind ordering a laptop online. But if theres a decent one in a store like Best Buy , Walmart, Target, and others ill go there and get it. Im getting my grant check in 2 weeks. So im guessing it will be $900-$1100. I plan on spending it on:
1.itouch $199
2. Cooling pad (whats a good one?)
3. Decent Not Pricy Headphones (wheres a good site to order some online where there are reviews?)
4. 2 ps3 games (Borderlands and Little Big Planet)
5. $50 to the side for Final Fantasy 13.
6. Laptop
7. Nice Cheap medium-smallish Entertainment Center
If you don't mind I would love it if you could post some links of laptops, headphones, and cooling pads. Thank you in advance.

First clean up you post so it is more clear what exactly it is you want help with, we don't need an essay on why you want a new laptop.

The post is also impossible to read, so fix that too. Spelling and grammar rules are not made for your amusement..

Make sure to clarify exactly how much money you want to spend on the laptop, since I don't want to operate in the ~$550-$800 range when helping you (sloppy calculation from the numbers you mention).

Ok first off the only reason I wrote that so called "essay" because I want people to understand the situation. Secondly I don't have time to be criticised by someone who has a short attention span. Now I cant give you estmates on the other items because I have picked them out yet. Now back on subject. Going by the prices ill say the max I can spend is $500 maybe more depending on how much my check is. I also wanted a good price on some headphones that are atleast $80. And a good cooling pad sinde my last one burned out in a day. And i cant edit it since it takes forever. Took me forever writing the topic. EDIT: I cant make any clearer since it wont let me add the info about Dell. Also I'm showing you my budget so you can see what I can work with. I'm open to taking things off my budget

Okay.. first actually read your initial post, you repeat your self, and the text is generally very hard to read! I do not have a short attention span as that would have made me give up.
It was just easier to ask you to remove the reason (aka. essay) rather than mention the things you needed to correct for it to be readable.
Second, then it is good that you give an actual number because as I tried to express in my first post, then your budget is not helpful, since several items do not have an estimated price.

Just try to make it easier to help you :)

But okay, back to the laptop problem. If your budget is only ~$500 then a netbook is your best option. I am not sure if you can live with only 10"-12", but if you can then you can buy a good netbook like the asus eee or a Lenovo IdeaPad in the S series. If you want a regular laptop then ~$500 will only get you poor quality.

Regarding the cooling pad and other items then I cannot comment since I don't use any of those things (I use ear plugs in stead of headphones, they are sennheiser CX 380 and they produce excellent quality sound, so if you can live with ear plugs with a price tag you should consider them)

A Netbook is a ultra portable laptop with a screen size of 8"-12", they are usually are not very powerful, but they got allot of battery time, usually lasting 8+ hours, and are very handy.

A Netbook would be perfect for "download music, steam videos, use programs", but they can only handle light gaming, since they usually have a weak graphics card so I do not know if you can play Maple story. But the gaming capabilities of cause depends on the model.

BTW i can help recommend you headphones. What's your budget for them? What will you use them for? (eg. music/gaming). If so for music, what sorts of music do you listen to?

Ok gameon. Ill say $80 but with me just buying a $214 book for school idk.But imma say $80 for now. Ill use it for gaming and music. I listen to anything but rap,country,hip hop. I listen to artist and bands like System of a Down, Miyavi, An cafe, Linkin Park, Evanenscence.

Most of my friends use desktops. And another wants an apple laptop for $350-400.

for a laptop,i guess my only advice is to actually try lifting the thing when looking at it in a shop.

I bought mine without doing so and i am now lifting a brick to and fro to school

If the laptop you buy is not a piece of crap, you will not need a cooling pad.

The difference between 32 and 64 bit is how large the cpu instructions are, and how much memory it can address. For you it is the last thing which is important, since it means that the pc can use more than 3 GiB of memory (a 32-bit can have more, but can't use it)

The laptop you have looked at seems okay, though it is quite heavy, and you should also look into having the hard drive upgraded to 7200 rpm, since it can mean a big difference in how fast your laptop is.

Ok I heard from a friend that most applications can't run 64 bit.

Most programs can in fact not run 64-bit, but all consumer cpu's are hybrids, which means that they can also execute 32-bit instructions. so you will have no problems.

Often when you buy a pc, you will have the option of upgrading/downgrading the stardard specs. I suggest that you get a laptop with 7200 rpm since it makes a lot of difference and there is not much difference in the price.
If you are planning on doing backups, or having a music/movie collection that you want to transport, then an external HD might be a good idea. But seeing as you do not have too much money at the moment, then I suggest you to wait and use the money to get the best laptop you can afford.

Yes, it is a hybrid. You do not have to worry about that since true 64-bit cpu's are only sold to companies as servers.

I have no idea if newegg will let you upgrade, I can't even find the 'buy' button, and as a danish person I never will.
But if they do let you, then upgrade. Or just find another offer :)

Both those laptops are good, but you don't get dedicated graphics. However, you will still be able to play the game you mentioned (that RPG thing) well, but games like WoW will really struggle. I can't give you advice really, gaming on laptops can't really be done with $500.

But here's an interesting deal on a 'netbook-price' laptop. Though what you picked are certainly better, this is $150 cheaper. However, you can only pick it up at a Fry's dealer, which there are none in my area.

7200RPM hard drives are overrated. 7200RPM hard drives get a 5-15% increase in performance (boot and loading times mostly) than 5400RPM and you get a 5% increase in power consumtion. So if your computer boots in 50 seconds, at most, it will boot in 42.5 seconds, and if your battery life is 3 hours, it will reduce to 2 hours, 51 minutes.

A 7200RPM hard drive is certainly a perk but don't rule out other computers because they have a 5400RPM hard drive.
