Predictions for the wildcard round?

Games are:




My predictions:

Ravens vs Patriots - Ravens step it up on D and shutout Tom Brady.
Jets vs Bengals - Jets pretty much showed who's boss last game. Also helps that they have got Darrelle Revis.

Eagles vs Cowboys - Cowboys choke in the playoffs, again, Eagles to win.
Packers vs Cardinals - Woodson vs Fitzgerald will be a key matchup, whoever gets the upper hand on this battle will win.

Patriots. Ravens will self destruct like they did against my team last week. (Who sucked too much ass this year to mention)

Jets. Really no basis, a family friend who died this year liked the Jets, so Imma root for them.

Eagles. They've been solid this year, and as you said Dallas (more like just Romo) will choke, again.

Cards, Fitzgerald is a beast, and Warner knows how to play him correctly.

I'll take the Pats, Eagles, Packers, and Cincy.

The Jets and Ravens just don't have me convinced they are good, and I dislike Dallas. GB is underrated.

Patriots- i hate em but they're good, Bengals- i wanna choose jets for 24, but 2+4 (sanchez) will ruin it, Eagles- I hate both teams so whoever wins im stil not gonna like it but i hope its the eagles only because i want to see childress(?) beat his old team, Packers- Not trying to start anything but the woodson and fitz battle doesnt determine the winner to me, because someone has to stop that offense and the cardinals D just cant do it.

Jets at Bengals - My pick is for the Bengals. Week 17 meant nothing to me. The Jets had everything to gain and played like it. The Bengals had nothing to gain and were playing like they didn't want to be hurt. Carson Palmer was benched and Benson didn't play the game at all. I expect the Bengals to step it up this week and play well in front of their home crowd. Benson will be the key for the Bengals to win this game. That defense will also need to pressure Sanchez all day. Make him play like a rookie.

Eagles at Cowboys - Eagles will take this. I don't expect the same thing to happen last week. Donovan McNabb will tell the team to play better. He'll step it up. They always play well late in the season. But if they want to beat the Cowboys, they'll definitely need to find some balance. With another week for Westbrook to get into game shape, he'll be a key if the Eagles want to move on. Not to mention the last time the Cowboys won a playoff game was 1995 I believe... And until they can win one... =/ DeSean Jackson on special teams will be key. Trent Cole and that line will also need to pressure Romo. That defense will also need to play Witten more. They've been beat by TEs all year.

Ravens at Patriots - My pick is for the Ravens. The Ravens want revenge for all those bullshit calls against them in Week 4. A game they should have won. Also, that Patriots team is really in trouble. Their defense gave up 21 points to Houston in the 4th quarter. Not to mention the Patriots will be without their most dangerous weapon in Wes Welker. He's what makes that team click. He moves the chains in third down. That means it'll be easier to limit Randy Moss's big play ability. The key to this game is, can the Patriots stop Ray Rice? On defense, Ed Reed has to step it up and help that weak secondary.

Packers at Cardinals - This is a tough game to pick, but I'll go with the Cardinals. This game was similar to the Bengals Jets game. The Cardinals rested Warner and most of their starters as the Packers beat down on the Cardinals in week 17. The Packers are red hot going into this game, but we all know the Cardinals. So much talent, but so inconsistent. However, they seem to always step it up when playing against tough opponents. The stronger the opponent, the better they play. I look for them to win this in a high scoring game. Anquan Boldin will get a lot of passes if Woodson does his job on Fitz. Look for Breaston to also get a lot of targets from Warner. On defense, Darnell Docket will have to pressure Rodgers if they want to win.

Two words people, Darrelle Revis.

No WR has had a 100+ game against him all season. He is the best CB in the game right now and on a offense that relies heavily on Chad 85 he will be the determining factor. Jets also have the best defense statistically. What i worry about is Mark Sanchez mostly. As a rookie can he handle the pressure and can he actually come out and perform in cold weather.

Same as Shia. There's nothing more to add to why and she said more then what I would have said so I won't.

The next picks are going to be easy.

Here's your problem... The offense doesn't really heavily on Ochocinco. The offense relies heavily on the run game. They've passed far less than in recent years. They've actually run the ball A LOT. The offense goes through Benson. Bernard Scott is a good change of pace running back. He can bounce it outside where Benson is more of a north-south kind of guy.

Defensively, both are good at stopping the run. However, the Jets have a much better pass defense. On the other side, the Jets also have the 2nd worse pass offense in the game.

Hmm....? Something's gotta give. I just do not trust the Jets offense. If the Bengals can stop Jones and Greene and make the Jets one dimensional, I do not like the Jet's chances to win the game. However, if the Jets do stop the Bengals running game, Palmer has the talent and the receivers to make something happen. Remember, Ochicinco isn't the only weapon he has. Coles was a very good player for the Jets. Cris Henry would have also been a great asset, but... R.I.P. He was a good player, and a good person. T_T

I agree with Shia about everything except the Eagles and Cowboys game and I would like to add more about the Bengals.

The Bengals in week 17 played like they didn't care. They played conservative and just wanted to get to the playoffs. Also, I can bet you they actually wanted to lose on purpose to take on the Jets. Now the Jets showed a lot to the Bengals and you know they're going to watch the film intently, especially Brad Smith in that Wildcat. Here's another thing... Mark Sanchez has thrown 20 interceptions this season. Whenever he's thrown more than one pick, the Jets are 0-5. Also, he's played terrible in cold weather games. Expect the Bengals to force the issue on passing situations and force some turnovers. Also expect them to stack the box the whole game to stop Jones and Greene. Here's a little fun fact... Since the Bengals changed long snappers, Shayne Graham is 19/21 on field goals and has hit his last 12. Kicking is going to be huge in this defensive battle.

As for the Cowboys and Eagles game, I think the Cowboys have a really good chance to win this game. In the 2 contests between the teams, the Eagles had something like 21 possessions. Of those, 19 of them started at the Eagles 25 or worse. That's some field position dominance right there. This means the Eagles have to drive the field 75 yards or more. We also know that the Eagles can't drive the ball for their life. Their run game is almost non-existent and they live on the big play. They move the ball by getting big chunks of yards. Nothing methodical at all. As we know, the Cowboys are playing great defense. They can rush the passer and stop the run. They haven't given up many big plays. Here's another little stat... Since week 3, the Cowboys average exactly 14 points given up. That's some good defense. And with the talent they have on offense, they're a team to be feared. I expect the Cowboys to limit the Eagles and win.

I will give the Cowboys the benefit of the doubt for their playoff drought. Those late 90 games were with a declining team of players. They were getting old. The 2007 team, they were young and inexperienced. Last year was a team full of distractions like Greg Ellis, Tank Johnson, Pacman Jones, and Terrell Owens. This year, they're better and they are all on the same page. Team first mentality.

I don't know. Eagles tend to play well when the games really matter. Win or go home, the Eagles usually step it up, although they've always fallen short... Haha...

Even though I'm a Chargers fan, I don't really like Phillip Rivers. He's a great QB, don't get me wrong... I just can't really stand him as a person... I'm rooting for the Saints from the NFC. I love Brees. >w< Former Charger go!

It was the same story with the Cowboys and Eagles. I didn't have a chance to watch it as I was on the road, but I did listen to the game. The Eagles couldn't sustain a drive, while the Cowboys moved at will.

Overall, I was 3-1... I only picked the Bengals game wrong... T_T Shayne Graham... If you made those field goals... Who knows what would have happened... He crumbled under pressure.

Well, that turned out differently than I expected. I picked the Eagles out of loyalty, but all the other teams that lost were, in my mind, the better teams. Still, football is a game of upsets in the playoffs due to single elimination.

Told you, Darrelle Revis is the man.

Cards vs Packs was INTENSE. 1024 total scrimmage yards, dammmnn.

Also, SUCK IT BRADY, SUCK IT. Told you Ravens D would step it up! 3 INT's and 2 Sacks, yeah baby!

I don't know about that. The Jets were much better. I think the cold got to Palmer, his passes weren't accurate, and Graham just chocked. The game could have been different if they made those kicks.
The Ravens were a good team. I knew the Patriots had problems with their defense and their offense wasn't going to be as good without Welker. I didn't expect the kind of dominance the Ravens showed. They only completed 4 passes! It's amazing.
The Cardinals and Packers game was a shootout like I expected. Whoever came out with the most stops and whoever made the most plays would win. In the end, the Cardinals made the biggest play in overtime. It was a great game. Kudos to the Packers to be able to catch up like that, down 21.

Ironic how an offensive heavy game ended in a defensive play.

Vikings are going to beat the Cowboys 31-14 and the Cardinals over the Saints 45-7.

I played both games on Madden 2010 in ranked matches. Lol.

In seriousness....
I like the Colts over the Ravens and Chargers over the Jets.
In the NFC, I like the Cardinals over the Saints and Vikings to beat the Cowboys.

I'll give analysis when I'm not so lazy. XD

Here are my picks.

Chargers over Jets - The Chargers are hot coming in and my pick to win it all. I'm also biased being a Chargers fan. Anyway, the Jets were lucky to get into the playoffs. The Chargers however are a complete team. They can run the ball, they can play good enough defense, and they can put up points fast. For the Jets to win the game, they'll need to play good defense and keep the Charger offense off the field. They also need to keep the score low. If the Chargers take a 10 point lead, I can't see the Jets winning.

Ravens over the Colts - This is a repeat of 2005 for me where the Colts rested their players, got rusty, and went out the first game. The Ravens on the other hand imposed their will on the Ravens. The Colts don't exactly have a good run defense, and I expect Rice and McGahee to have good games. Flacco will however need to do much better than go 4/10 with an interception. However, if the Colts do win, it wouldn't be a surprise to me.

Vikings to beat the Cowboys - The Vikings are going to ride their beatdown on the Giants in week 17 into this game. It'll be a good tough game, but I think the Vikings are a more complete team. They'll stop the run and force Romo into 3rd and long where Jared Allen can do his thing and maybe force Romo to throw a couple interceptions.

Cardinals over Saints - Kurt Warner dominates the Playoffs. The Saints however are taking a three game losing streak into the playoffs. The bye week doesn't help the Saints either. Here's a statistic, the Saints only scored 17 points against the Cowboys and Bucs. That's troubling for an offense as good as theirs. However, the Cardinals are going to be focusing on their defensive fundamentals this week. I don't expect this to be as high as last week, but we'll see. I think the Cardinals are just the better team overall and a complete team who can hang with the rest of them when they're playing to their talent.
