I got a job and had my first day of training today! Everything went surprisingly smooth!
Congrats! (Now I just have to go and do the same...)
OT: I asked the question I wanted to ask last week... The short answer was... practice, again... ugh (practice C++, practice writing, practice drawing, practice guitar... meh)
Because it's true. Life is like an RPG (except it's always on Hard mode and there's only one continuous run; no saving). You want to level up? You have to actually work on those skills.
RPG is an understatement. Just kill the same monsters repeatedly... with the trade off of time you hit max lvl sooner or later.
My problem is half of the time I have no idea how to go forward and no one to ask for help for, guitar for example (learning from numerous (-_-') youtube vids) so far I just practice cords, can't even imagine a song to start learning, or correct finger placement/moving, I just have to watch more vids till I get it right but slightly discouraged atm.
For C++, the book I'm using can be confusing as hell at times (writer, at times, isn't clear what does what and uses confusing examples), haven't worked up the courage to start over and read the other book in my possession.
I can go on... But I am happy to be having so many (somewhat) easily solvable problems (not use to challenges outside social interactions), the amount is overwhelming at times though.
OK, first off, be honest: are you actually looking actively to find someone to help you learn basic guitar playing? Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and actually post some things up somewhere in your local area to find a guitar teacher, if you really feel like you need that initial push from someone
Can't really help with the C++ though, since I bombed that hard when I took it (just not my thing really). And look, everything in life is gonna feel overwhelming, more than "at times". The real challenge is whether you're going to feel overwhelmed by it all and just be too nervous/anxious about resuming/going on, or if you're actually going to (wo)man up, pick up your guitar/homework and do something about it?
Do or do not; there is no try - Yoda
