Onegai! I need avatar software

Please! Could someone tell/give me a program that converts avi into gif... i mean I want to put a sequence from an episode as my avatar... could someone help me?

well im not sure how you do it but i think if you use photoscape you MAY be able to do it

uhm... how have you done yours?

i find the majority of my avatars jus flicking through the internet

home-made are nicer :lol:

blaaaah ! i don't get it!! I con't even get to the part where i load the video :cry: anyone... do you know free software that makes a good, clean gif?

You can use xilisoft video converter it converts all types of files and the one i have can convert to .gif that should work although its not a free program but im sure if you look you could find it.

i just tested it and xilisoft does work its just that the color is distorted and i just didnt like how it looked. I got it to work and it looked good too but i had to use 2 different programs to get it to work if you were looking for one simple program sorry cant find one but if you dont mind some extra steps let me know and ill post how to do it.

making an animated Gif is like making miku dance in the program "mikumiku dance"..........a lot of procedures and steps........

yeah........pretty hard.........took me 1 hour to make miku dance for 30 sec.........

I'm still in production with mine when do you think you will finish yours

maybe next week...........trying to copy nagi's dance on the op of kannagi.......pretty hard............

sorry been busy all day but here is what you do:
First download xilisoft video converter ultimate (another version of xilisoft video converter may work but that's the one i have) and install it also download and install gimp which is a free program. Open up xilisoft and open the video file you want to use. If you need to choose what section of it you want to use just use the clip feature. When that's done switch the output format to .png which is a picture format. You may need to play with the settings a little but i have it set as 176x144 picture size (only so it will go onto fakku). Also set the capture interval to something like .2 and just make sure the duration is longer than the clip itself. Then hit convert just make sure you are saving it to its own folder to make it easier later. Now open up gimp and hit open as layers and select all the pictures that came out of the conversion. Then hit save as and change the format to .gif and hit save. Click the save as animation button and the convert to index using default settings then hit export. Last step is just to choose your settings and make sure loop forever is selected. i had a 100 millisecond delay and set the frame disposal to i don't care. Now just hit save and its done. To see if it works open the file up in Firefox or internet explorer.
