Hotel Rwanda 9/10
Paul Rusesabagina is the manager of a rich (it's for european and american) hotel in a war zone in Rwanda during their civil war (it was more or less a genocide) in the 1994. A time when the UN and the rest of the world turns their back on Rwanda. Saving only the whites and non african. While Paul struggles to save as many Tutsi refugees as possible. It's based on a true story.
I felt very stupid while i was watching this movie. Because i knew nothing about a civil war in Rwanda. Or that 1 million died during it.
The movie was very powerful, you kinda ask yourself
"why can there be peace everywhere", one can only dream of the impossible.
I thought it had some similarities to Blood Diamond. Hotel Rwanda > Blood Diamond.
This
genocide is very special (not in a good way) because it's similar to how Hitler wanted to eliminate all the Jews. Before belgium left they separated the people in Rwanda in to two category,
The better and the worse. I think (not 100% sure) that it went with the skeleton structure. They measured it or something.
Well the worse is called "Tutsi"
"and they need to be eliminated", or something in that way. This resulted to total fucking chaos. Unlike during (and before) the world war II, where everything went rather slow and controlled. Rwanda was fast and everyone was killed on the spot if they were "Tutsi" and almost half of the people was "Tutsi" while in Germany it was much less.
Jean Reno was in it too. I like Jean Reno.
