Alien - 9/10
Had to rewatch this one after Prometheus left a bad taste in my mouth. In the time that I've last seen this movie, I've forgotten how bad the lighting sometimes got in this flick. I understand that it's to set the tone and all, but when you get to the end of the film, most of the Nostromo is being lit up by emergency lighting and strobes. I don't know about everyone else, but that shit kinds hurts my eyes before long, and I'm usually quite tolerant of such things. Idunno, just something that bothered me is all. Still a great movie, though.

Generic superhero movie. This is the second time watching it and I can see why I don't feel so satisfied about the movie. The only thing that I missed in the movie during the first time was the extra scene after the short ending credits.

Rise of the Guardians

A nice family film that didn't go for the lowest common denominator like most "kids" movies these days. Pulled off the cliche "they exist as long as you believe" message better than most would. Lots of heartwarming moments involving Jack Frost, Santa, and the Easter Bunny with the children. Overall a well-done movie. Just wish Santa could have kicked more ass with his dual sabres. xD

Would see again. Craig is a more serious Bond, but he pulled off the rare bouts of humor in the right ways. And the homages that are present made the film even more enjoyable.

The Secret World of Arriety - 9/10
I was never big on The Borrowers books as a kid and to be perfectly honest, the only reason why I even bothered to watch this movie in the first place was because of the involvement of Studio Ghibli. I have always had a strong respect for Miyazaki, who scripted the movie, ever since I've first seen Castle of Cagliostro and many of his later films. Arriety is no exception to Miyazaki's excellence. The movie is beautifully animated and the English dub was surprisingly well done.

Rise Of The Guardians- 8.5-9.0/10...a wonderful film, visually impressive and a great story. The Guardians are such an awesome part of this movie!
