The Three Musketeers (2011)

Some parts of the movie got me thinking about Assassin's Creed. Things like the rotating cannons, stationary flamethrower, Aramis acting like an assassin himself standing on top of a high structure with a hood shrouding his identity in the beginning of the movie only without a hidden blade. Milady caught my attention immediately whenever it's her screen time. Other than that, the story line was ok since the hero always win in the end. The airship battle has that Pirates of the Carribean feel to it. In my opinion, Buckingham stole the spotlight in the end with his army travelling towards France. Most people would've said that modern adaptations of old movies are normally worse than the old movies themselves in terms of originality and characterization. I however have never read or seen the original version of The Three Musketeers so this is my honest score.

Twilight Breaking dawn part 2: 8/10
Didn't watch the other previous films just this one cause everyone I know keeps saying that it'll be good and whatnot so I thought hey go for it. But to my surprise it wasn't that bad - the beginning bore me but it caught my interest starting from the middle when the action begins.
And I would score the ending 10/10 just with how they ended it and the song they paired with it - It's better than the cheesy Harry potter ending.
Though admittedly I would still not watch the previous films just this part 2.

Rise of the Guardians - 8/10. Loved it. But I would have preferred the kids being featured more if they were such an important aspect in the end.
Pitch Perfect - 8/10. Good comedy. Great covers. Fat Amy is boss.

Rise Of The Guardians- 8/10...really enjoyed this film, it was visually beautiful and the story was very good as well. Definitely a recommend if you want a heart warming story.

Saw The Hobbit last night at midnight. 10/10 amazing. The 3d enhances the movie without making it obnoxious and hard to focus like most 3d movies, the changes they made to the story and extra things they show are fantastic. I had a giant smile on my face from the beginning of the movie till the end.

The Hobbit: An Unxepected Journey - 9/10
Great movie, I did not see it in 3D so I would advise seeing it normal because the actions scenes were quick and a blur (unless you can handle that, then by all means go ahead). Would be a 10/10 if I didn't expect some more action from certain characters (Thranduil). Great film, great characters, and as usual it is an adventure.
Remember though that this movie is only the first part of a series, part two is coming out in 2 years or something. (Only saying that because the people in my theater were obnoxious at midnight and complaining at the ending."

Ip Man

It's inspiring in a way saying how martial arts doesn't solve everything, even though that statement is somewhat hypocritical since the movie was all about using martial arts to restore honor and gain respect. Of course, they aren't that mindless to use martial arts whenever they like. As for the story line, since it was a semi-biographical movie about the life of Ip Man, some parts of the story were exaggerated. Though, it would be awesome if the whole movie itself really happened in real life. Also, the fight scenes were fantastic, pretty realistic as well with the arms and legs breaking. One of the few Chinese movies I enjoyed watching and would definitely watch it again.

It's a solid movie, I give you that. I do, however, feel like they went a bit too all out on the special effects and all that fancy 3D. I would rather have watched the movie without 3D, but those were the tickets I got.
As for the movie itself I guess it's decent, the book is a children's book so it's a given that they'd make it more child-friendly but imo they took it a bit too far.
The movie were also in my opinion poorly paced, they pressed in a lot of things and kudos to keeping it close to the book(s), but all the chase and fighting scenes (which all of them move in slow-motion half of the time, seriously, the movie would be like almost an hour shorter if they were at full speed.) were a bit too drawn-out. For example ...
The first half of the movie is more or less gold, while the other half feels like the new Star Wars trilogy all over again. It turns from epic to very-childish (As I said, ofc it would be more child-friendly, but please.) and is overwashed with "hey, these will look awesome in 3D!" effects that don't look awesome, you just have no idea what to focus on since the camera is swaying back and forth and there's a million things that moves. I can understand the people that complain about nausea and motion-sickness even if had not problem with that.
One thing that I thought were among the best in the movie were the music, the soundtrack is amazing. I loved it, and I love the fact that they use real, proper songs and poems from the book. And I like that the Orcs talk in Black Speech compared to english, as they did in the original trilogy.
So, all in all: It's a good movie, it's LotR, it's epic but I will most likely never watch a marathon of all three movies(if the other movies ain't a lot better than this one.) without spewing gall all over them.

Dwarves are the race who invented awesome. Although perhaps it's just the nostalgia talking here. Fond childhood memories probably made me overly forgiving of some overtly corny set-ups (The White Council, Thorin squaring off against Azog, the scene with the Stone Giants, the Eagles) had this series not their prestige and were an original script not based off books, all this would have knocked the film down into Michael Bay slog.
The music was well able, as to be expected- and the dwarves turned out better than I could have hoped for (exception of the younger ones- of course Hollywood had to make Thorin, a main character, pretty and decidedly un-dwarvish in appearance).
I completely forgot about Radagast. Rabbit sleigh is the transport of the future.
The pacing is a bit presumptious, but that's a given- being the first of three, and Jackson knowing full well that everyone and their dog is going to watch all of them; it starts slow, and ends on an unfulfilling, anticlimatic teaser.
Overall, though- very enjoyable. Dwalin instantly upstaged Gimli in dwarf cool with his hardcore Viking/biker look.

The dialogue was well-written, the plot was good because it shows even criminals have lines that shouldn't be crossed, Brad Pitt turned in an amazing performance, his speech at the end of the film was really good and had a lot of truth to it as well, and I liked how it showed violence in a negative light when most action movies these days glorify it.

Willem Dafoe's characters explanations of what at the crime scenes cracked me up. But it seemed interesting and made me laugh. And yes, the violence, it was entertaining.

Men in Black 3 - 7/10
It is much better than the second movie as that movie is more like a spoof than a true sequel. They at least expand Agent K story and the actor who played him is amazing, but the one who played Griffin is nah.
Dark Knight Rises - 8/10
I will not praise the movie since everyone has seen it, but here is what I don't like. FYI, i will not judge the movie based on how close the movie to the comic book or how I need to know this from the comic before watching the movie, because there is no reason why one should do their research before watching it.
1) It felt like Anne Hathaway is pretty much imitating Michael Pfeiffer from Batman Return
2) It felt like they add Talia at the last second, no reason to have her in the movie
3) Bane's voice, can't hear him what he is saying
4) This movie is Rocky 3. The main character failed to beat him, training montage, and beat him at the end.
5) Batman disappeared in the middle act. Instead, it sort of became an episode of cops to me.
6) Same with Alfred
7) The whole thing with Bruce getting bankrupt was pointless. Yea, it led to Tate to purchase it, but we as the audience know little to nothing about her.
8) If Gotham is shut off, how does Bruce get back on the island and how does he get the batman logo up on the building (now I am nitpicking)
The one character I like the most is Gordon. He is a power actor.
