Also, finally finished the final details on the grenade launcher and hyper bazooka of the FAUC
Tamiya enamel paints, it is sure a pain. from applying to stripping it off.
thinners are not always the best way to remove them.
and they are so damn expensive. its like 75-100php or 2$. a comes in very little amount. well, quality wise its very nice. >_>
i see that it looks like a mess.
why not use a tamiya enamel paints thinned in lighter fluid.
apply then clean the excess with a cotton bud(q-tip) dipped in lighter fluid.
IDK how to prevent bubbles from forming.
bubbles? did you paint it on a bad weather? either way. ouch.
i forgot to mention that you should also apply clear coat before applying enamels.
to make it less messy and easy to remove.
It's been like hell sunny here for like 5 days straight... I don't see how it's a sort of bad weather... Also, same happened when I applied the clear green enamel on the FAUC... had to remove it with paint thinner.

aww. that's a real bummer. i see. it's either the paint reacted badly on the plastic or it's an old stock.
i feel your pain.
well, i never really have encountered those enamel based bubbles.
but then it always appears on industrial lacquer based paints.

I did apply tamiya enamel paint thinner when I painted my HGUC 00 raiser to make it spread evenly... Dunno why those bubble formed... Well, from now on I'll buy the acrylic one instead.
Also, care to repost your Ex-S again so I can compare the two?
Spoiler:
you didn't panel line it...
It was the Holy-crap-I'm-so-excited-to-build-this-model feeling - that basically meant that I was so excited building, I didn't even think about panel lining.
Also, care to repost your Ex-S again so I can compare the two?

Care to finish the job now?
I lack time and my pens are several months old.
Well... next time then. It'll look better than my FAUC if it's panel lined.

I'm just sad still, some of the paint was to thick, I didn't try hard enough to paint it correctly, and I completely forgot to paint some areas.

Same shit happened to all the IJN gray parts and the propellant tanks. Cant do anything to it anymore... Try gouging out the panel lines?
It's been a very long while since I came back here ^_^
I see everyone's been busy. I still can give suggestions if you guys want.
A good substitute for thinner would nail polish remover with acetone, just be very careful with it, it's not overly corrosive but can melt parts if used excessively. Just be sure to rinse the stripped parts with water before you paint it again. No Matter how desperate you are DON"T DIP THE PARTS, just patiently clean them with cotton soaked with the nail polish remover. Panel lines that are lost can still be recovered if you strip the parts properly from paint and by using a sharp precision knife.
Also, there is no sure fire way to prevent bubbles while paint brushing, most of the time bubbles form because you dip your brush in too much paint. Dip the brush moderately and be sure to thin the paints evenly, I can't speak much since I only use clear paints when I paint brush, and the only time I really use a paint brush is when I use liquid floor polish on my kits before panel lining and decal application (for your info liquid floor polish is a very nice substitute for gloss coat and evens out on its own). When it comes to spray painting I don't experience bubble formations, just do it in the afternoon, and dip your spray cans in lukewarm water for 5 minutes, and spray in a moderate distance and don't concentrate on one spot of a part, wave your can in an up and down motion.
On a side note I'm almost done with my MG Turn A and my Custom MG XM-10 Flint is coming along fine, I hope I can post my works here again when vacation time comes. I'm also preparing to disassemble my MG Alex for painting.
so. . . I just bought my self a Hongli Nu Gundoom HWS. I didn't know why did I bought it. Just currious about hongli stuff. Probably gonna paint it diffrently by changing some of the parts in to light blue. or maybe not. lol
Ah, I've been considering on getting that MC Nu Gundoom HWS. But my glaring stacks of plamo back logs tell me otherwise XD I heard good things about the kit and gives Kotobukiya kits a run for its money. It's no Bandai kit, but it's pretty good overall.
this kit has disappointed me. It looks like a Recasted Shenlong Gundam in Green, a lot of excessive panel lines and a lot of stupid rounded parts compared to the other OVA HG's.
