I can't remember if I ever got banned at all.... but although this is somewhat relevant to this thread. My little brother was banned from world of warcraft forums for posting pictures of unfinished Hyjal instance XD for a grand total of two years.

He was able to post in the forums again after like a month or two before Wrath of the Lich King came out.

Blizzard Devs deserved the total disrespect for treating a class for like total crap for ages XP

I even got into screaming insults that took over whole warcraft forums which lasted for like a month or even more longer than that.

Me and my brother plays a ret pally although we play on different servers. Alot of bans was handed out but couldn't squish all complaints.

I managed to stay unbanned while yelling at the devs.

For my little brother who got banned, it was kinda annoying for him cuz he couldn't flame people on the forums. XP

Actually I "almost" got banned here at FAKKU! Now that I think about it, someone who must have took notice reported me... probably. Well, that's been long in the past and I don't really feel like sharing the whole story (it's quite embarrassing, seriously). All I have to say for that matter is that I had my reasons albeit inexcusably wrong; I admitted "what I did" and sincerely repented on my "foolish deed" (perhaps even till now). I'm really grateful for that "someone" (he knows it very well) for letting me off the hook. "He" might be keeping tabs of my actions but I can assure him that he didn't make the wrong decision. I've been completely reformed since then. 8)

Yes I'm pretty sure about it. I have deleted the PM messages to that conversation long ago but if I remember correctly you had to use a proxy to visit the site and I didn't.

I haven't been banned from anything as far as I can remember.

It is interesting though, the effect that modern media has had on debate. I think the compression of debate space(that is, many people are no longer interested in reading a wall of text or listening to an hour discourse, as in say, the famous Lincoln-Douglass debates) has promoted a more "attack" style of debate. Because we compress everything into short often so called "soundbytes", it's difficult to have time to firmly establish a point. Thus, people tend to attack their opponents, since it's usually not nearly as hard to at least question something an opponent said and the stance of attacker gives off an impression of strength and control. In fact, there are some very charismatic debaters who have managed to combine a cursory amount of topic information and knowledge with character assassination to "win" many debates in the court of public opinion.

Taken to the extreme, this is often what we call "trolling", but even when people aren't simply trying to troll, ad hominem is very tempting, and a good number of charismatic debate personalities lead by example.

I got banned from wow for a week for saying "Ah hell yeah I got a gun, it's 'cuz I'm black?" Shit was funny.

I've been playing WoW since the beta and that seriously doesn't sound like something you get banned for, especially not for a whole week.
The one time i got banned from WoW was when i made a characters named "IRapeGnomes", and i only got three days for that.

I'd say it's more likely you watched that Power Rangers vs gangsta crizzab vid and made this shit up.
