Harmonian, I think the point Joe-kun was trying to make was that since there isn't a set law regarding lolicon in the US, it's up to the judges to decide whether a person should go to jail or not, and that is a good point.

While I'd love for them to say that lolicon is fine and legal, mostly I want something to be set in stone, so people can know what the law is. As it stands, it's impossible to know. Literally, one judge says that lolicon is legal, and another judge says that it is illegal. That is not how the justice system is supposed to work. But that's how it is right now.

Tell that to the people who fought for justice during civil rights era or the revolution. Yes, Judges are impartial. But this lack of law leaves them room to be partial to their own belief system and therefore it cannot be held up in court until new laws are drawn up. But they need new laws for a whole plethora of things to do with computers anyway, so it's all quite difficult.
