Sushi Bars

So what do you think of sushi?

Sushi is my favorite food so i just thought i would make a thread of it.

I haven't been able to taste very many kinds of sushi since i live in Sweden and i haven't seen any sushi shops that have some kind of japanese fish but i still love it endlessly.

I love Sushi, it's expensive and even more expensive if you try to make it yourself. Good thing I live in the land of the fattys (USA) there's an "all you can eat sushi bar" near my cousin's house.

however, I still love the sushi. ^_^

I love sushi but here in North America there really isn't the same selection of fish. When I went to Japan... there were at least a dozen different fish that I didn't recognize. They way that they prepare it is different over there as well.

Sushi is awesome, although here where I am we don't get that much of a selection. (Most of them aren't runned by Japanese people)

Sushi grew on me whilst i stayed in Japan, my first lunch was kowai -__- all alien to me and it jus tasted odd. I then tried it again when i braved up and liked it, i jus kept away from someof the raw squidy things lol

Maybe I'll do it, when I'm feeling like life holds no meaning anymore...

In my area, well, there's just not enough selection for sushi...so it's not very popular here. Plus, people in my are just scorn at the idea of eating raw fish...which makes it even worse for sushi business, and for me, since I love sushi soo much.

But eating sushi sure hurts my wallet....x_x

Well... I also LOOOOVEE sushi. My favorite sushi ingredient/topping is scallops.

In the Philippines, we have this sushi restaurant, "Saisaki", which is an eat-all-you-can sushi restaurant. It costs about 450 pesos (about $9+), and they keep rotating different sushi varieties, flavors, fish toppings and designs. I frequent the restaurant every payday and treat my friends.

There are other sushi restaurants around the RP metro as well (though they cost much more per dish), my favorites are Omakase, Sugi and Tachibana. The latter, Tachibana, is one of the best. It's like an izakaya, they have sochu and warm sake at stock and you can drink sake while eating sushi.

Damn lucky you. I wished i had a shop like that near me

although sake is forbidden here...i still wanna say damn that's some real luck. i'm gonna go on weekly basis if i have such shop nearby.....

Sushi is great! My favorite sushi spot is a good hours drive away, and when I was working everyone knew I would save up and take my buds out once a month, and just splurge for a weekend. Being unemployed sucks >_<

I do try new sushi, but my palate can't handle strong flavors.....like natto and plum both activate my gag reflex because it's too strong.

I do love the subtlety of sushi.....it's an explosion of flavor you wouldn't expect from such simple ingredients, makes it worth going broke for!




And ZombieLolicon, it was most likely the pickled ginger you ate that tasted like perfume....although I've heard people say it tastes like window cleaner ^_^

I have never tried sake before but i want to. It sucks for you that sake is forbiden where you live (where do you live btw?)

Malaysia. Well, forbidden or whatever, I'm gonna try it someday.

If your near Kuala Lumpur grab a AUD $10 flight with air asia down to Singapore and go try it!

I'm Asian but Last week was my first time Eating sushi, I'm not usually used to eating it but it seems that the ginger is a lil bit too strong for me..

Singapore is mainly Buddhist
