I did read the article, and all I'm getting is
"We went to a shitty school, give us the job."
Basing the case on race, when in fact the blame for not being prepared for the exam is placed squarely on their shoulders, is what I would call racism.
What really bugs me about this is these people thinking they are entitled to something for no tangible reason.

Although firefighting is more physical than not, I assume that being an officer or whatever involves a lot more administration duties than actually going into fires. It's like being a general in the army; even if you're a sick fighter the further you get up in the ranks the less fighting you'll do.
And as much as I like fairness, saying what amounts to "White man and his tests is keepin' us down" is pathetic.

I can understand people saying that the SATs are racist (well, not really racist; more like, meant for suburban kids over poor kids), but saying that blacks don't do as well on multiple-choice questions? Where do you get that shit? Everybody is good at multiple-choice questions, because it's multiple-fucking-choice! If you don't know the answer, then fucking guess! There's a good fucking chance that you'll get it right!

There's a scene in The Soprano's where Tony calls his daughter's black friend Sambo a few times. He also calls him Jamal Ginsberg the Hasidic homeboy (being that he's Jewish as well) and I found both rather amusing. I'm kind of a terrible person when it comes to racism.

Urban dictionary pretty much proves that. Search "Canadian". Half the definitions say it's a disguised term for black people. Which aside from being stupid in itself makes absolutely no sense since the only significant minority population this country has is Asians.
