bleh, I needed an example, otherwise there would be no proof of posts being deleted... it's not like anyone notices. When someone starts a topic or debate, it's always good to give examples of instances. I really don't mind having a post or two deleted (happened before), I just want to know how to avoid it in the future, I think we all have the right to know that.

But Waar, what do you hope to accomplish by posting a topic about it, in Random, of all places? If you feel that your posts were deleted unjustly there is nothing that any of us can do about it. I mean if you want to vent that is one thing, but you still have to contact the staff to really know what is going on.
You have to understand that it comes off as a very mistrusting and egotistical, to sit there and complain about it on Random instead of "bucking up" and talking to the staff about the situation. Granted they may read this, but they may not. Why not cut out the middle man?

What other solution would you really want? I don't see a problem here, if I were finding my posts to be deleted I would simply question someone of higher rank of me in the site and question my actions to see if I did something wrong.
It's not like I haven't ever had anything deleted or thread closed, but along with that I go seek an explanation.
You want an alternative to a deletion, what do you want them to do? Do strike out and say no?

As far as I'm concerned, I do believe that some of the staff members has the administrative privilege of doing so (obviously). I've also experienced having lost a number of post in the past, that could only be either of deletion or removal. :razz: Some that I'm also fairly aware of, since I requested for the deletion myself.
Anyway, the thing is, if some staff/mods consider the "outright-deletion-of-posts-privilege" as a their right, then it is only fair that we (users) must have the God given right to, at the very least, know the reasons as to why a particular post of ours has to be or was deleted. Can't we at least get some sort of notice through pm, so that we'd be able to bid farewell to our beloved posts? :cry:
I honestly believe that there cannot be any alternative or solution for this matter. I think it would be best if the mods themselves (who's got the powah) would be willing to discuss the issue, give their thoughts, and make some clarifications. Not that it matters much, it rarely happens anyway (for me that is). :)
PS: This thread needs to get back on track. alright, fourth time here: I would like 2 primary things from this topic.
1. From a staff member, I would like some sort of posting guidelines(FOR EVERYONE) to avoid post deletion.
2. From the community, I would like to spark some debate as to ways the staff could deal with this situation aside from outright deletion. Obviously it would still be up to the staff to follow the ideas but I think if it came from the community there would be a better chance of it happening than if it came from one lone user who looks like he has been "butthurt"(not that I have, simply saying it would look that way if i pm'ed jake/mike).
ex. Have the mods edit the content inside a users post with something like this "Modedit: this post has been deleted due to content blah blah blah...". that way, at least we would have some idea of the reason behind it.
I'm not sure if I'm simply posting in another language of if the concept is simply too hard to understand but I'm fairly certain I have stated the topic multiple times. What else can I provide for you?

Yes Waar, I deleted 2 of your posts from my thread. I also deleted TMS's post and someone else's. Stop being so god damn butthurt and read the edit I made in my very first post of my thread as soon as I did it.
