I do miss one thing about the 90s, but it could be said about every decade before the 90s as well - the internet wasn't widespread. I don't think it's degrading societal relations or wasting too much time or anything. I just hate that people can go online, read some retarded shit, spout it as the truth, and have others agree with them because they read the same retarded shit. I'll be honest, I've done it, too, but that's precisely the problem. Even smart, good-natured people can be suckered in by this thing called "the Internet." At least before the internet was everywhere, if someone said something unbelievable (like, anacondas are giant snakes that can eat men whole), people would be slow to believe it, or at least acknowledge that they don't know for sure. Now, people can spend ten seconds on Google and find something that confirms what the person said, and they'll see that as hardcore proof.
In short, people are generally more unwilling to think for themselves because they can search the internet to see what is true or not. But maybe I just like to bitch.
