Well. It all started out me reading a copy of 'High Performance Import magazine' which contained their project on a nissan silvia S15 drift car, shortly after I started playing a game called Tremulous, and i made my gamername 'Project_S15Drifter'. After a few months of playing under that, i got into a clan and shortened it to 'Drifter'. I've been using that for the passed 4 years, then when xbox live came up, i went to use 'Drifter', but found it was already used.. so with much time thinking about it, i decided to add '995' to the end of it, after a year or two, i eventually found my way to this forum, and when it asked for my username, i found 'Drifter' didn't work, so i put in 'Drifter995' and thus, it was born.

I was discussing an RTS with a friend and tried to say the word non-consequential but I couldn't remember the whole word so I ended up throwing random syllables around. One of the results was Noncomplatypus, and there you have it.

I had read 1925 Things Mr. Welch is no Longer Allowed to do during an RPG, specifically "128. Polka Gnomes exist only in my mind." Gnomes were always my favorite race for playing on my favorite Battle of the Dragons server on Neverwinter Nights if I wasn't in the mood for trying to create a completely serious character, few things are more entertaining than a nude, bright pink barbarian/bard/red dragon disciple gnome wielding a dwarven war axe slaughtering everything in his path and taking down the enemies' dragon with little to no effort. Add to that my taste for random and silly names and there you go.

The last two names I used a lot were Xanthil, which was just a name I made up for an evil mage character that I ended up using elsewhere for a while, and back when I was playing Mechwarrior 3 and Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries I was known by TW_Omega. Nowadays I always wonder why so many kids/teenagers use Omega as a screen name, I can't even remember why I chose it myself.

Other names I frequently use for online games are, in order of most common usage: Pariah, Raging Bob, Hunter Harold, Takari (female MMO characters), Mikari (female MMO characters) and a few others that I can't remember at the moment. I think my favorite is Pariah, because I got tired of always being called a hacker/glitcher/cheater/etc. in FPS games so I decided to go ahead and give myself an appropriate name, that and I was thinking about the Pariah Dog random encounter in Fallout 2 the first time I used it.

Story time.

I used to wonder what truth is. I initially adapted a definition that truth is what really happened. Problem is, what if nobody knows what really happened? Then the truth temporarily adapts becomes a widely accepted well, story.
If possible i always want to tell the truth even if it screws me, except if it screws friends. If that is the case, how do I lie for them? Tell a believable tale since the other party might not know what really happened. And from that tale create another truth, if you can that is. Ergo, lying while telling the truth, something like that.

tl;dr: I like the truth yet i like lying.

My name came from that Final Fantasy XII antagonist, Vayne Solidor. It's not like I was a fan of the guy, its just that I was playing that game when it was time for me to choose a new username and for some reason remembered him. I have two other nicknames, but I wanted to create a new one to maintain my secret hobby of hentai. Since I liked his name but disliked his last name, I tried his name only here and worked.

I DarkdaemonPK2 on 1up.com w/ the same avatar. Anyways the story of this name includes a feud w/ one of the mods there, and basically, they were biased and prejudiced and kicked me out. My original user name on 1up.com was pokemonkiller so w/ this new user name, I would like people aware I still thirst for revenge to crush those people...OK, that's inciting hate again.... let me just tell it a different way:
