Feels a bit like something written in the SD forums

Water is just a endless (nearly) supply but if the question said Water Purifier then water would go because drinking Sea water has salt which causes a number of a anomalies to body and mind. Its like being a unprepared Boyscout in such a crisis.

Yeah... water can't really disappear... and neither will oxygen... since most of the oxygen comes from alge living on or in the water...

Could argue either, but if you're talking about entities rather than elements, I'll go for water. It's thought that the ageing sun will steadily increase in brightness by 10%, killing all life and boiling away the water...but would the super-heat and lack of life lead to a complete lack of oxygen, and would water remain underground?

If they were so somehow magically disappear, they would either A) disappear at the same time, or B) water would go first.

Without oxygen, there can be no water because water is dihydrogen oxide. Meaning, if Oxygen were to somehow disappear, water would at the same time.

Now if water disappears, well, you can still have oxygen.

But, as for the reason why either would disappear is beyond me and near impossible.

Well, if the population keeps increasing, there will be a shortage of oxygen and air. Eventually we will have to get our air from the water so oxygen in the air will deplete faster than water.

well, i guess O₂ will disappear first, since decomposting needs O ₂. longer human live, much more waste to be decompost,and that mean much more O2 will wasted.

Hmmm, well since their have been those "water restrictions" that noone listens to we might run out of water first.

But on the other hand, if we were cut down all the trees or have super crazy global warming and have the climate go crazy, trees could die and there goes our oxygen. so Im sure what would go, probably the oxygen. Yeah ill go with that.
