If they're the slow, dull-witted zombies I would form a small militia. Establish a base of operations, set up a perimeter, fortify our safe-house, and stockpile supplies. I would then begin to instruct and educate both my companions and myself in the basics of survival.

If they are zombies like shaun of the dead, or from left for dead, the ones that are slow and stupid but outnumber us, here's what I would do.
first i would ask help from what we all knew wouldn't be the smash bros brawl roster, but we all know how they'd respond..
after that, I'd grab the handy dandy crowbar in my house to use as a weapon, i'll have an aluminum baseball bat on my back. I don't have access to guns to use as a weapon, why the hell would I? I might get access to guns after a while if I meet up with people who do have access to them, but otherwise not.
I would try meeting up with a few people i know who are in good-enough shape, and try to find and join up with people who have talents/professional training (ie doctors, people who know about and have access to preservatives/have electricity for something like, say... a fridge or freezer, people good with technology that can help invent/apply defensive technology ((including security cameras, lights to see any potential zombies in the nights, maybe some turrets that can be remote controlled, or even automated ones)), maybe a scientific farmer, maybe someone good with making barriers such as fences and walls, maybe a gunman, useful people like that are what we would need.), a group with both boys and girls in case of the need to reproduce (awkward as that sounds, at least 6 billion people would become zombies if the world was infected with zombie virus, right? Civilization might be a bit under-maintained when this all is over.), of course we would set up a series of safe-houses to go to(staying in one safe house might be too boring to stay in. its true, try staying in one building for a week without any electronics or plumbing or heating or AC or books or whatever. Just food and weapons and furniture that wasn't used in the barricade. Or at least imagine it. Does that explain the need to have more then one safe house to go to?)
Knockwurst( an artist on newgrounds) happened to make a random female zombie hunter that's a zombie hunting companion that nobody would mind having, for more then one reason ^_-.
Afterwards I'd worry about communication with any other survivors.
Then there would be an issue with food after a while. Think about it, after 9-20 months and just about all the food will go bad. This is why we would have to begin some procedure to produce food(which is where the people with talents/professional training would be useful.
Well, the zombies would eventually be gone and we know what would happen from there on out. This is just what I'd do, of course.
Of course, if its zombies like the ones from left 4 dead, then i guess I'd be shit out of luck. ^_^

I'd cut em all to bits with a sword and have a rifle for long range shooting. I'd barricade my house and maybe search for survivors occasionally. We'll make plans to steal a boat, load some supplies and drift at sea to avoid being eaten, sail back as needed and kill as much zombies as needed to resupply then sail back out at sea. I hope to find Jurassic Park while I sail so we can transport some dinos back and they can eat the zombies.
