White Knights

White knights are an acquired taste. To a certain degree, I admire their resolve for sticking to their principles and beliefs (whether real or imagined). They do bring on the giggles. Hmm and depending on the lunar cycle that I'm in, I find both white and black knights sexy... (rbz is one helluva smexy BK)

just going to point out that there are only two poll options so we get a real view of where people stand, had there been a 3rd or 4th option it would have given a different outcome. Just pick the option the more closely resembles how you feel. You may not like the way I worded things but in the end it will provide the same results as me dancing around the subject would have.


I will agree(with Ramsus and others) that for the most part our community doesn't have many dedicated white knights. They also are fairly rare; but if someone like Himeko were to be attacked we would see many appear. We have users that mostly fall under white knight category and consider themselves the ally of those in need of aid everywhere. Don't get me wrong, people seem to think I fall in the "i hate them" category; I don't. I enjoy watching it as much as the next guy, my previous posts were simply meant to warn them about what they look like and the possible outcome(i have faced many a white knight and watched them all regret it). I laugh but I also facepalm and feel pity when i watch one destroy themselves for someone who probably wont care for longer than a minute or two.

Glad this topic stayed turned out this way, I think this fairly constructive open debate is the kind conversation we have on fakku, too many threads are made about our masturbation tendencies or our zombie apocalypse plan. I don't like white knights, but I dislike black knights even more. Not the users themselves, just when they get in their white/black knight modes.

I politely disagree. A brief look at the circleje...errr, "post your pics" thread alone should speak volumes.

I don't mind seeing more white knights on Fakku, though the "aggressive, fanatical zeal" bit could be left out. Some may believe that these white knights are defending a particular member in order to gain favour with the latter. However, that isn't always the case; lots of factors may come into play. Perhaps the white knight is extremely close to the "victim", even to the extent of being friends in reality?

We should also consider the "antagonists". Can we safely say that they are not creating trouble with "aggressive, fanatical zeal"? The white knights may have clashed with the antagonists more than once, prompting both parties to carry grudges. Whenever one party stirs up trouble, the other will automatically respond in a harsh manner.

In conclusion, I believe there should be a balance between the "heroes" and the "villians". :)
