I've always been confused with the maid... Shes black so I know she isn't the owner of the house (this is an old show people, accept those times) but in some episodes she acts as if she owns the place. Like one episode shes out playing cards and comes back to beat Tom. After all that she blasts the stereo which a maid certainly wouldn't do. Its as if shes a maid in half the episodes and the owner in the other half.
I can't say I've actually seen the real owner... Only that one episode with the babysitter which was odd since the house normally doesn't have a baby in it xD
They changed her from black to white and from maid to home owner towards the end to be more pc

In my opinion, I don't care who the bad guy is in any episode. I watch this show simply to view the Cartoon violence that shows like these used to offer. I chose Tom as the villain, because I can.
Sure, Jerry's a complete dickhead, and in some episodes he instigates a fight with Tom and tortures him for his own amusement, but what's to say Tom doesn't do the same thing in about 30% of the episodes? When Tom ends up losing, it's usually with Jerry fighting back in self defense, yet ending up with overkill.
Tom doesn't deserve all the punishment he receives, but it's all for the lulz, people.

I neither think Tom is evil nor Jerry is evil. Tom is a cat and it is his duty to eat mice and Jerry is just a cheeky mice. No point of evilness or something like that.

Lol, like most people here, I disliked Jerry. I don't know why I would sometimes watch the show, since Jerry's actions annoyed me.

I prefer for them to be friends with each other and beat up the bull-dog or some other characters.. But Yea, I think Jerry is closer to being called Monster than Tom..

The show is called "Tom AND Jerry" not "Tom OR Jerry."

I can understand can't make him win by killing/eating Jerry but atleast something other than getting blown up, chased out of the house or getting ripped to pieces by the bulldog.By the way, this conversation somehow reminded me of this picture

it has to be jerry. it usually annoys the hell out of tom, even when tom is just peacefully sleeping...
plus, i watched an episode which the two plays tennis, and when i see jerry's hit i went "omg, wtfh is with that uber hit!!??". the ball spins like crazy, and even able to make an elliptical track! that's the part which had most impact on me...until now i'm thinking, whoa, if only real tennis player can hit that...he'll be invincible. for sure.
