Why not stop in to IRC for a visit?

Care to expand on that thought? "But meh" doesn't give us much to go on. Have you been in IRC and didn't like it? Do you just not want to join?

I was in IRC the other other night and everyone seemed nice. But now it keeps giving me errors (today and yesterday both) when I try to enter.

I drop by IRC every once in a while and so far, I can safely say I like the friendly atmosphere. Maybe it could be just me, but the users appear to be joking all the time, which helps to liven things up.

I stop by, but I hardly talk due to most of the time you guys are talking about shit I have no clue about. I'm making an effort though.

I was on the IRC until recently. I didn't say a whole lot, but I liked to check the logs and see what was said. Sometimes, it was very informative.

In case anyone is wondering (I know no one is, but still), I'm not in there now because I've been wasting too much time lately. I need to get focused and get going on some new things. That's also the reason I've been less active on the forums (even if it seems like my activity hasn't declined).

The IRC can be a nice place, but it can be hard for people to understand what exactly is a joke and what isn't. If a new member jumps in and sees two people calling each other assholes, he can't really tell if they're kidding or not. Shit, even an old member couldn't tell unless he knew both people. But there's an easy solution - don't say anything. If you're confused about the current atmosphere, just stay quiet. And after a while, once it quiets down, say something. Not hard, and there's no rule saying that you can only stay in the channel a certain amount of time.

On another note, don't worry about #FAKKU being too leetist and what not, we're really not. Some people just have certain grudges(Like a certain some one against Naruto/Bleach related names). Just don't act like a total douche and you'll be fine.

Hibia moderates for the most part. #FAKKU isn't IB(though it really is sometimes). No one will hate you for being new, and I haven't seen a new person turned away yet. Actually, Jacob, Nikon and Raze usually embrace newcomers when they come in. It's meant to be a place to hang around and have some fun, discuss things etc. You also get quite a bit of suggestions for some damn good manga. It'd be nice if we had more people talking instead of lurking. You don't have to lurk for a long time and get to know everyone, just hop in and chat.

Where's the chatroll link? Or better yet, what is it? I might be inclined to talk on a secondary channel because I don't know even where to begin operating IRC.

My one and only fond memory of IRC was with Nate River; sure is a nice guy to chat with. Unfortunately, ever since that one time, I never encountered him again... :cry:

I think it's already been a month (and a half) since my last visit. If I feel like it, I'll surely drop by... just with a different name. Don't worry, it's not my style to pose as someone else. I just prefer being anonymous, that's all. :wink: (heck, I don't even think it'll be that hard to figure out my naming pattern)
