Raw was pretty good last night.
Miz won the US title. Don't know why he couldn't win at the PPV though. :?
Ben Roethlisberger was a good host.
We found out what Bragging Rights means. It's all the winners of the SmackDown matches take on the winners of the RAW matches in a tag team match. Pretty stupid gimmick if you ask me. And does that mean no ECW title match again? Christian deserves better than that.
Back to RAW. Dx vs Jeri-Show was good. And Show actually said "Jeri-Show." That was cool. I hate though that Jericho's always the fall guy for the team. It gets kind of old.
And there was the Diva Bowl. Pretty stupid. Just them doing finishers to each other and yada yada.
Chavo apparently is turning face now because he doesn't want to hurt the midget anymore? I don't get it. I just want them to put him in real matches again.
Mark Henry looked like he got legitimately hurt. Maybe MVP can go solo again and get worked into the title picture. But I doubt it.
And we got some good news which is actually equally bad news.
At Bragging Rights it's gonna be John Cena vs. Randy Orton in a 60 minute Iron Man match. That totally sucks. I don't want to see John Cena do his same five moves for an hour. Seriously, I think I'm gonna count how many diving shoulder blocks Cena throws. I'm currently taking bets.
But the good news is, if Cena loses he's off RAW. Which in itself is terrible news for SmackDown. But since I'm usually too busy to ever watch SmackDown, I'm kind of hoping they send Cena over there and then bring Punk over to RAW maybe. Or John Morrison. Or both.
Of course to put Punk in the title hunt on RAW they'd have to turn him or Orton face but Punk's to early of a heel to turn back, and face Orton probably won't work out so well. And by probably I mean almost definitely. Either way doesn't look very probable.
Yep, I was disappointed by this one too. The gimmick, I mean. You've got four, maybe six if god willing, tired and busted wrestlers doing a tag match to close the show? Oh noes. Bad gimmick, Vince. But I'll digress: if they did this one I might be interested:
RAW: DX (if they win the tag belts) and Orton (if he kicks Cena out)
vs
SD: Undertaker, Batista and Rey Mysterio
Miz won the US title, great. Now we'll see some variety on Raw. Come to think of it, WWE's doing a good job building Miz's singles career. John Morrison already is a capable singles competitor, and making Miz win the title is his stepping stone for more of singles exposure and shying him away from the tag-team stigma that afflicted a lot of former tag champions (e.g. Cade & Murdoch, La Resistance, etc). And Miz and Morrison now hold both the top second-tier title belts in WWE.
If Vince makes the mistake of AGAIN excluding ECW on the next PPV, expect a few disgruntled wrestlers up there. I hope they get a title match soon. I have an idea on how WWE could use that stip Orton used if Cena loses - this might be iffy and weird but if it goes good, all the better - Orton's gonna win that Ironman match and Cena's bye-bye to Raw and gets signed up at ECW to face Christian for the title, then Christian goes heel whatever the outcome, because ECW needs a big-time heel, big-time, and Christian is a nice heel. Come on, ECW's got no face-time stars save three (Dreamer, Christian and Regal), and add a huge star like Cena can give some ratings. Extreme Cena, anyone? LOL I can imagine Cena vs Christian at WM25 for the ECW title, then if Cena loses Vince can conveniently use the WWE draft to get him out of ECW. How's that for a stint?
I previously had the gut feeling Cena's going to win the belt back after Bragging Rights (probably SS or TLC, but more likely TLC), but since the stips are nice, I'll happily ditch that thought.
But of all good things, there's a bit of a doubt that Orton will win this match - John Cena's stip if he loses at Unforgiven 2007 against Edge is that he'll sign up on Smackdown if he loses the TLC match, and Cena won, so on Cena's history of Loser Leaves Raw, he's 1-0. And to think Cena's one big cash cow on Raw, it's going to be a hard decision on Vince to even think of removing him from Raw.
Yep, Cena and shoulder blocks... let's see... a few maybe, but since Orton demanded it to be no-DQ, I expect chairs and a few kendo sticks again. Make it a hardcore Ironman match with some Legacy included.
Punk to RAW is quite unlikely... I mean, Gewirtz and Hayes might warp some storylines to make a Cena-Punk swap. Punk's suited best for SD for the long-term since he's being built there like WWE did Edge to solidify heels. Cena best end up in ECW.
Chavo's being built as a goofy Latino, but unlike his uncle Eddie, he's a goofy Latino booked in god-awful matches. Eddie got better exposure than that. I'd like to see some good halftime matches from Chavo... say Chavo vs Carlito, or Chavo vs Bourne, pretty good. Or else dump Chavo back to ECW, at least since he's a former ECW champion he can get into decent programs.
Ben Roethlisberger was a good host, a lot better than, say, ZZ Top? LOL But anyway, I hope WWE books Eminem someday as a guest host before this guest host gimmick runs out its appeal.
