Which do you prefer?

I prefer slower zombies (must be because of those D&D campaigns). The classic grab-your-leg-while-buried-underground is timeless. But that doesn't mean I hate fast zombies. Fast zombies are very appropriate for modern day settings IMO (since they tend to be infected with some virus as opposed to slow zombies that are supernatural/magic enchanted).

i would go for zombies like left 4 dead... but not the special infected!!! they will f*ck me up!!!

I admire the undead qualities of this thread. I really, really thought this would have ceased bumping after my pre-Christmas holiday. :P
I also never actually gave my preference, but it's slow zombies. I remember the glory days of Resi 1, a game of a select few with real atmosphere and which required some real skill. There are some really fun games and films with fast zombies, but real horror needs the kind of tension, unnerving quiet and consequent jumpy moments that send you towards the pause button.

According to some weird study that had been made (I just heard this from someone), if there would be a zombie infection IRL, the only chance for mankind to survive would be slow zombies, that can't climb. I'll take my chance with the slow, since then I can take my time and aim, or even do hit-and-runs in melee without getting caught =D

Slow is my choice, it gives me more time to think and get away!

For entertainment value id go with slow zombies. Thinking about resident evil 1 and 5, 5 felt like Im gunning down regular humans. For movies, I guess its the same theyre more like drugged up cannibals instead of the undead

I'd prefer both mostly slow and a couple of sprinters because you can't run and reload at the same time and thus fast zombies would annihilate you.

It's depend on the situation: if there was a zombiepocalipsis i would prefer the classic zombies, but in many films and games the fast ones looks so nice :)

Slow zombies are the best! When you're dealing with fast zombies, you can't fuck around with them. There are about a million things you can do with slow zombies. In fact, this give me a idea!

Slow zombies, because nothing is worse then having a slow death rather then a fast one. I like them because they represent the inevitable rather then a shot-term threat compared to fast zombies.

Unless they are easy to hack and kill, I'd go with slow zombies.

Slow zombies are more terrifying because they represent a large threat. No one gets killed by one single slow zombie. They trip and fall, or make some stupid mistake, and get eaten by a horde. A dozen zombies hovering over you, tearing at your flesh, that's fucking scary.

Slow zambahz. Survival first broski, I don't want to deal with Left 4 dead style zombies who can run faster than usaine bolt with rockets attached to hits feet.
