I don't really care about respecting the dead. They're dead, they don't get a say in what happens any more. I say harvest their organs for the good of others or for SCIENCE. Wishing to be cremated or buried with all your parts still in you is a flagrantly selfish act. It shows you care more about whatever religious mumbo jumbo you believe in more than you do about those who are alive that could be helped. Making that decision voids you of all right of others needing to give a shit what your opinion on the matter is. There just aren't enough spare organs in the world for all those who need them and taking perfectly good ones and setting them on fire or leaving them to rot is equivalent to going up to sick people, telling them that you could help them, and then laughing in their faces when you tell them that you won't.
You could harvest their bodies for science.
Or you could have a viking funeral. I don't know about you, but I prefer burning stuff.
Not to mention, some people seem to believe that dead bodies are sacred or something similar (and thus would probably take offense to harvesting bodies for science).
