Canadian Internet Bill: Harper goes overboard.

Yeah, hadn't heard about this until now. Hard to believe some of the things going on. What an insane bill, might as well rewrite the national anthem and get rid of the word free.

[color=#2e1a6b]I really hate arguments like this, but I hear them way too often. Even if the bill did stop child pornography (which it doesn't), opposing would not mean you support child pornography.

I like to say this to expose the stupidity of such arguments:
"If you're against executing mass murderers and rapists by exploding the world, then you support rape and mass murder"

You mean the federal government right? Quebec's GDP ranks 2nd in Canada, therefore your provincial government earns more in taxes and needs less hand-outs from the federal government when compared to all other Canadian provinces aside from Ontario.

British Columbia has the largest gap between the poor and rich when compared to any other province on average. Not only that, but it's the most expensive province in Canada to live in. Alberta and Saskatchewan haven't been much better for the past few years, though their economic growth is rising at an incredible rate thanks to Harper's plans to rape Canada's resource rich lands dry. Even so, you should be thankful and consider yourself lucky that you live in a province with a strong economy that doesn't constantly need hand-outs from the federal government.




Hear that? That's the sound of "The Harper Administration" selling Canadians out to our neighbours down south. With SOPA and CISPA, it was only a matter of time before our federal government decided to follow in the footseps of the United States.

To be completely honest I'm pretty sure the recent election was rigged, I do not know a single Canadian citizen that wanted Harper back in office. It's outrageous, but Canadian citizens aren't going to do a fucking thing about it; like our neighbours most of us are incredibly ignorant about what goes on in our own country, if not moreso.

Oh, and if you guys didn't already know, there's another pipeline going through northern B.C.; it along with the Alberta tar sands pipeline travel all the way down to Texas for refinement. Yes, that's right, we're giving away well paying jobs that could go to Canadian citizens to the United States.

The problem is not abouth money , it's abouth the principle . We have as any other provinces a lot of help from the federal governement but when it comes to the culture , they else don't want to give us money (the only reason is that they don't want to finance the culture of quebec since they want to assimilate us) or they say they gonna give us money but we never receive it ...

Stephen Harper is Canada's George W. Bush, I wish he'd just go away and take his fail with him.

I think Jack Layton would have been a great Prime Minister instead.

Sure, Jack was a socialist, but at least he got his priorities right in regards to foreign policy, net neutrality, and ending the war on drugs! (Apparently he had also supported the 9/11 truth movement, calling for a "Canadian" investigation into 9/11 as opposed to an American-ran investigation, as Canadians were killed too!)

I don't care if I pay higher taxes as long as the government minds its own business, and Jack Layton was that kinda guy in my opinion! Take my money, but let me do whatever the heck I want to myself, and do whatever I want on the internet!

But character-wise, I think he was a true Canadian, and not a police-state globalist like Stephen Harper.

Today, I don't like the new guy leading the NDP... Something tells me he's all socialist and not civil liberties...

Harper is a figurehead just like George bush was. Do you really think anything will change after he takes his leave of office?

Well, not if the conservatives have majority since they'll weasel in another asshole who will do the same thing. It's up to us as people to stop this but sadly most won't do anything. It's once everything has been taken away that people will finally make a stand. Wanting Stephen Harper gone and everything to be ok is just wishful thinking.

The sad truth; we're far too content with the easily accessible entertainment recent technology has given us.

On a side note, did you hear what happened to the Canadian wheat board?

Now that is fucked. All those years Canadian pioneers spent implementing a democratic wheat board and it's been put into the hands of government control. The farmers will no longer be able to decide who they sell their crops to, what price they sell it for or for what purposes. They say Canada has more of a socialist outlook, but in all honesty, I feel like we're moving closer and closer to imperialism every day.

I read about that but I wasn't too sure what it was about but if Harper wanted to shut it down chances are he did it for his own reasons and not the greater good of the country.

It is infuriating how politics always try to input extravagant laws by picking on one and only morals problem. They are acting as if freedom on the internet ONLY allowed people to spread child pornography. It's not true, and everybody knows it. Freedom on the internet is way larger than that. Obviously, they are just searching for something to get control over internet. In my view, it would not have mattered if it had been anything else, they just found it convenient to attack child porn because it makes them the "good" people trying to save everybody. That's sick.
