.and who am I to impose what I think is right on another group of people ? The Catholic Church ? no wait they touch little boys...
you sound like a cultural relativist. if you were to go by that logic, well then who are we to say that pedophilia should be outlawed. or maybe incest between a mother and son. or maybe a culture believes that killing twins after they are born protects their their village. maybe burning a woman alive may help the harvest.
your logic leads to absurd conclusions and also i think think you get the difference between the morality of a situation and the reasons a society chooses to regulate a certain area mixed up. wearing seat belts for example is not a moral issue, but the interest that a society has in preventing millions of deaths a year governs. you can say the same thing about child prostitution. even if you take the morality out of it, society has an interest in guarding children against abuse or mistreatment, and you are fooling yourself if you think that child prostitution does not lead to abuse or mistreatment. a child, in i think most countries, does not have many legal rights and a child would basically at the mercy of whatever adult is in charge. its not like they know when they are being mistreated either, or can fight back, since they are still weak physically. the room for coercion in child prostitution is just too damn big.
Also, have you ever met anyone who has actually been sexually abused as a child? who experienced sex, whether it was consesual or not consensual at the time? that shit stays with you, even the "consensual cases" and in everyone that i've met, which sadly are several people I've been close to, it fucks them up, some more than others.

anyway , sure the child may not be able to make sound judgement , but they same can be said of an adult in a similar situation ,who is half starving ,and fearing for the lives of their loved ones...and your right how do you regulate child rights..but you can apply that logic on any other job they'd be forced to engage in realisticly in the environment they live in (hard labor , drug traffic, stealing , etc) I don't approve of it , and Im not saying we should ignore it ,but at the same time I realize imposing our morals ,and laws on the situation will do little to help it,and that the true evil lies in the corrupt governments that do nothing to really solve the problem ,and just push blame on the issue...
you're right! in neither situation is that acceptable. doesn't matter if it is a child who is being abused or an adult. But the government part doesn't make sense since the government is the body that can at least try to protect children or adults from exploitation through laws. so i don't get your argument at all.
fair enough , I believe you may have taken what I said a bit out of context ,and put a bit of conjecture in their , but meh I suppose my biggest problem is what you said about the government...have you ever actually LIVED in a third world country ? Do you realize the amount of money wasted ,and taken by higher ups in these countries ? Do you have ANY knowledge of how many laws are passed in these areas with no consideration for the people who live their ? I'm angry with these governments because many of them who outlaw these child prostitution laws , do nothing to actually stop them..or are you naive enough to believe just cause a law is in place it will eradicate the problem ,or even be enforced ? Majority of these places put these laws in effect due to social pressures , and do nothing to follow up on the issue (aiding the poor, programs to help starving children , and even psychological aid for the children taken out of it ) THAT is my problem with those governments...its not enough to pass a law ,and then say "well fuck it , its not legal anymore, they wont do it again right ?" they need to heavily enforce these law ,and do their best to create or aid existing programs that help eradicate the reasons people have to sell , or have the children work for these scum bags on the streets in the first place...I realize it wouldn't be easy , but they should at least fucking try..HELL EVEN BRAZIL IS
TRYING , but whatever that is again just my opinion..in regards to the first thing you said I only meant that I as a member of a foreign government , with little understanding on the vast majority of problem harming these third world nations are , am attempting to impose MY will ,and opinion on them..I firmly disagree with the United States decision to mess around in the affairs of these foreign nations..especially when we do it from some fucking pedestal looking down on other nations ,and not actually HELPING them...and finally yes I realize children are mistreated in sex-work...but their likely going to be mistreated in general , but the fact that sex is viewed differently by people in these countries has to be taken into account...western society looks at sex differently most of the world...and if they believe that working in a sex shop is better then having their child worked to breaking points in a factory you can't just look down on them and judge...oh btw I was sexually abused as a child , and I realize the effects these things have..so PLEASE don't talk down to me in that regard considering you have no idea what I have been through ,as I have no idea what may have occurred to you, but speaking as someone who actually WAS in thailand ,and has spoken to women who used to work in the industry they dont even see it as abuse..they just thought it was a way to help their family..they may not be the norm but these people do exist , but again I feel I must state I don't defend , nor approve child prostitution, I just want it to be handled properly , not swept under some fucking rug.
