I would think that if you can make throw away clones that would be where it's at.
no offense kais, but i think thats a horrible idea. its a good concept in theory, but subjecting someone to the life of a mere distraction, a death with no consequence, is rather demeaning. it would be an inhumane existence, and sooner or later the line between clone and 'regular' would be blury when there shouldnt be one to begin with.
The example that best suits this are the quick clones used in the Halo books, designed to replace someone for a given amount of time, and then, because of flaws in the process that they haven't fixed yet, the clone dies of "natural causes" this type of clone would be handy in international relations since it would be, in effect, as if the president were there in person, but it's not him and only a clone. I also like the humans in Halo being able to simply clone up new organs when you needed them, all they really needed was the DNA and the proper facilities. When dealing with clones you treat them as the person that they are a clone of, they were made for a reason and now they must full fill that reason for existing even if they are not going to live that long, it isn't inhumane when you are treating them with respect, but in effect they are still throw away clones.
