(of course, gear more towards our us posters) i watch news a lot and i'm noticing we care more about clinton/obama than burma, china, even the tornados & wildfires across the nation. i mean, i'm done with the whole obama drama & clinton crying. just tell me when the election is and I'll go vote.

Even here in the UK all we get is this Clinton/Obama battle all over the media, its not even like we get any say in who the US president is going to be, gets annoying to see it all the time.

I'm a little interested, but the media coverage is too much. Its historical that there's an African American and a woman running, but its still the primaries. Politics have never been my thing, as long as the country gets out of this hole we're in, I don't care if a dog gets elected. Thinking about it I think we would've been better off with a dog for the past 8 years.

I just want Hillary to go away. Technically she can still win but unless Barack decides to make a new platform about rounding up all the chinks and wetbacks before getting back at the Jews for the 9/11 then the lead he's established is going to hold until the nomination takes place.
Really, she's just a bitch though. Her whole campaign is saying how terrible Obama is and that he secretly hates everyone. It's like watching your parents fight but drawn out over several months. It's really not that pleasant.

My room mate always watches the news when he is downstairs, so I catch bits and pieces whenever we happen to be down there together. Every single time I see it, with the exception of the most recent time, it's always about Obama and Clinton.
Granted, I was never much of a news watcher myself, but I did watch it with my dad a few times a week back in the day. But now...I can't stand to even turn it on and find out what's going on in the world...not like I really could find out about the world right now anyway, but you get the idea.

The only thing I care about it is that I don't want another republican president (ever if the world would be so kind). Then again it's for reasons like that that I don't watch the news, if I cared about what was going on in the world I would just look it up on the internet.

Pretty much. Which is why I do care and pay close attention to the primaries. I mean, though Hilary would be a helluva great leader compared to Bush (or McCain for that matter), she still a total politician and a bitch. I think this country and the world need Barack in office. That guy has it going on. I'm serious. He will be a great leader. But yeah,like always the media takes it all too far and I'm fucking sick of it. I live with my grandparents due to proximity to school/work and they have cable news on like 24/7. If I still lived at home at least I'd just be hearing NPR which is generally intelligence without all the hype. Sigh.

I think Barack would do a lot of good for America. Even just from being elected. It breaks down the "old white christian man" barrier around the presidency and he's done quite a bit to get people interested in politics again. Even if it works out like the Kennedy administration (not just like the way it ended for anyone who thinks that's where I'm going) it would have pretty positive net impact. Last thing we need is to have the first minority president getting his head blown off though.

I sort of zoned out of it after Bill Richardson dropped out. I don't strongly dislike either Clinton or Obama, but in their own ways they both leave a bad taste in my mouth. And I'm not interested in McCain. Maybe if he were a possible VP, but not head honcho.

As far as the news is saying, Clinton already is too far behind to catch up and will ultimitly lose the canadacy to Obama. After that kind of stuff was annoucned, I don't pay much attention to it anymore.

Most people who dislike "blacks" aren't doing it because "Oh your skin color is different than mine." Just because you don't like blacks doesn't automatically make you a racist. I lean towards dislike the race as a whole but, not because of any one general thing. I see people like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson,etc always playing the race card. Parasitic men like him drag down the reputations of actual great men like MLK.
I say I don't like barrack for numerous reasons and the first remark people make is "your a racist". Why? Because I don't like his politics? I don't like his Carter style policies? The fact he wants to raise taxes (The money for his Universal health care has to come from somewhere and the Gov't won't cut spending). Then the fact he stands so far left that Micheal Moore can't even seen him over the horizon anymore. Yet, I'm a racist because I won't vote for the black guy running for president. The same goes for Hilary. People claim I'm a sexist when I say I won't vote for Hilary because of even more reasons than I have for not voting for Barrak.
Then again I don't like McCain either. Hopefully all three canidates will be struck down and a third party like the Libertarians can come in and finally fix the whole damned thing.

On the topic of America and its elections and also racism, I have few words to say. I've seen the sheer amount of stuff on TV about it [when I was in Thailand, I don't watch BBC over here without cable TV] and am pretty much un-involved on all levels. I think that it's interesting that we have two USA precedents, and I'll be interested to see where Obama takes USA. The TV seemed to be indicating that Obama was 'winning' as it were. Although I was never taught much about the government system in USA because I live in New Zealand. Looks like thats something for me to read up on, as I never really had a strong interest in it before. Don't really now, but still. America effects the world rather heavily, whether I want it to or not.
Racism. It's sad, but I was talking with a friend a while back who was watching Opera and she said that [iirc] there was a show where children were presented with various toys and they had to pick which they would want. When the white child was offered a white doll and a black doll, she picked the white one. When the black child was offered the same, she also picked the white one. So evidently, it's still not a perfect world.
Personally, racism makes me clench my teeth. We are all equal, in every way. People who think one race or gender is higher than the other are erroneous in their thinking.
