*Cue Gundam SEED OP*
I, personally, love the idea of creating people who are "Smarter, stronger, Faster, Better."
But, for anyone who has watched SEED, the term "Blue Cosmos" should be something that will explain the inherent problems with making certain people awesomer then others.
GenEngi allows us the chance to take human potential far beyond what nature intended us to have, and I think that's a great concept. I'm a little angry that it will only work on following generations, but, hey.
That's what illegal, inhumane memory transplant experiments are for, no?
I was unable to see Gundam Seed. Can you explain Blue Cosmos for me? On a related note no generation would be far superior to the one preceding it. Generation A is 100% (normal Human) Generation B would be 110% Generation C is 120% (generation A is close to or already dead by now). Think of it as a never ending tweaking. When a new "generation" is created the genes from the previous generation would be mixed in with everyone else's. If a soldier or a pro Athlete develop of promising gene then it'll be mixed into the next generation. Your already awesome, then you kid would be a little better and his kid would be a little better.
Of course this is assuming we kept the traditional methods of procreation as the means to produce offspring. They could just let people have children as they pleased or set it up as every few years there would be a sudden population jump (scheduled breeding) or the creepy aspect of cloning to populate the earth and removing sex for procreation.
I often dream of a psuedo-spartan/greek society when I think of this. For the first several years the child remains at home and at a certain age the child is taken away and sent to an academy. Educated in all worldly aspects (science, mathmatics, etc) and as the years go by they learn more complex things like physics, etc. While at the same time training their bodies with exercise and combat training. The academy would be a 12hr 7day a week schedule. Every day of every year until they are around their early twenties. When they graduate they would be assigned a job that best suits them. When it comes time for the next generation to come around the best of the best would be selected and would be used to make the next generation.
Sometimes I daydream too much
