#1/2: Prayer is only guaranteed to be heard, and the answer may not be yes.
#3: There is a country, called Israel, it's on the map. The bible has yet to be disproven on any historical dates, places, or events. And Christianity doesn't disbelieve in other gods, it believes that they are weaker than God. In one case, a prophet was channeled after death, and was angry at the king for it.
#4: Big bang, what caused it? Science?
#5: This seems to be one of those problems with time and terms. First, the slavery of then was not the antebellum slavery, it was usually for debts, and other situations where the slave's alternative was death. As for most of the other parts, I've seen worse laws in other cultures, even after that timeframe. As for the woman teacher part, I suspect that that was to prevent flamboyant sermons that would not be taken seriously. Especially in that time.
#6: It's called free will. And you can divert from "the plan" God just incorporates it into another.
#7: Mormonism and Islam are not Christianity. The new testament was written, and states this as well, that most of the people who witnessed the miracles Jesus performed were still alive at the time, and guess what? There were no people who said it was wrong.
#8: I have had no NDE's so I don't know.
#9: see #1.
#10: The verses mentioned state that it is possible for miracles to occur, and that you will be provided for. It does not say God will spontaneously generate money for you. It would probably mess up the economy if he did anyways.
#11: The bible is historically accurate. Besides, if you want people to have faith in you, you have to leave the possiblity for your non-existance. And as for the "if everyone knew, everyone would join" part, there are people who don't believe the Holocaust happened.
#12: [web]http://www.allaboutcreation.org/great-flood-faq.htm[/web] And the place Sodom and Gomorrah are thought to be had a lot of sulfur on it.
#13: See #5. And the New Testament does repeal most of the laws. Mostly because no-one truly obeyed them, and were denied heaven.
#14: Tough one. As for the "rock solid" proof, maybe God/Jesus didn't want to cater to your whims?
#15: I cannot find the verse yet, but the next appearance of Jesus will be the last, and not before. Do you really want the end to come sooner?
#16: God does not torture in Hell, He just doesn't save you. Besides, you chose that. As for Exodus, commandment #1 is "You shall have no ohter gods before me." "You shall not murder" is #6. Murder is different from execution, killing in war, and self defence.
#17: Same stuff with proven miracles. As for Holocaust, "let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile" It's part of the free will thing.
#18: Easy one. Heaven is 1,400 miles cubed. The walls are 200 feet thick. (revelations 21:15-17) And your soul goes to heaven where "On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yeilding its friut every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse."(revelations 22:2,3)
#19: Eh, Christians should do the vow of poverty, and some do. But that's another free will deal.
#20: I don't know, I've seen quite a few concrete churches...
#21: Oh for... This is stupid. The communion is a symbol of accepting the new covenant, which is a contract. If you don't grab the life preserver, you might drown.
#22: Matthew 22:37-38, "Jesus replied:"' Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment.""
#23: God never promises life will be fair.
#24: cooruption in the organized religion structure causes problems, not Christianity itself.
#25: Even Darwin did not believe in evolution. And there have been no recorded or proven cases where life has created from material that had not been alive at some point. Sorry Son Goku no stone monkeys.
#26: The bible was written by men, and some of these parts are history accounts. As for the testicle grab, that's to keep the wife out of the fight, but it's still messed up.
#27: Revelation 21:5, "He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!""
#28: Once again the gods exist, but God is stronger.
#29: see #21.
#30: My opinion? Timothy and Paul were sexist. Remeber Corinthians is a piece of mail.
#31: Free will. And see #17.
#32: Deuteronomy 6:16 "Do not test the Lord your God as you did at Massah."
#33: Ok. The crucifixion was Jesus becoming the sacrifice unstained by sin to absolve all who accept his covenant. He took on all the sin in the world, including what will occur, and at that moment he was apart from God, as sin = deviating from God. Then the sacrifice was completed. So you don't have to make one.
#34: God never promises an easy life. Quite the opposite really.
#35: Easy one, Revelation 21:1, "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea." It's going away, and all the parts that matter will stay anyways, so why bother?
#36: No evil = no free will = no truly "choosing" God.
#37: Not really an argument there.
#38: Yeah, divorce is the couple's fault for being stupid. God did not split them up, they choose to break their vows.
#39: Mark 16:15,16 is a statement of fact. Example: You are going to die. I'm not going to kill you, but you will expire eventually. As for the bigotry, Jesus was there for the Jews first, they were God's chosen people, they rejected him, so he turned to the rest of the world. Lucky us.
#40: Sounds like flaming to me.
#41: See #32.
#42: God's words, filtered through imperfect humans. Ever play telephone?
#43: Free will was not tarnished, the people could have refused Him, they did not. And this is God here, by definiton He can do what He wants.
#44: The prayers for a utopia will be answered. It's called heaven. Be patient, it's a virtue after all.
#45: The flood was the big "reset" button. Everyone except Noah's family had turned away. If it wasn't for them, there would have been no survivors.
#46: See #3.
#47: "Something from nothing" has yet to be proven.
#48: Prayer is not guaranteed a "yes" answer.
#49: Free will. Personally I think God became tired of people relying on him for everything. He's not a genie, and they only give you three wishes.
#50: See #32.
And if you haven't figured it out by now, I am a Christian. On that note, feel free to debate with me.
