How do you define the term "virgin"?

As you can see, that varies depending on who you ask. Personally, my answer is no.

I think that penetration, be it vaginal or anal, takes away virginity. But it goes a little beyond that because i think that for it to take away a persons virginity it has to be between two people. without the human element involved i just dont see it as "tainting" the virgin purity. i cant think that your not a virgin simply because you know the basic workings of the act(like said before, insert organ a into b in such and such position for x amount of time) only because i was only maybe 12 or 13 when i had "the talk" with my parents about that. so everytime i try to think like that i just imagine that 11 or 12 year old not being considered a virgin anymore cause he/she asked their parent a question.

I believe that virginity is something is that self-judged, and thus there shouldn't be a set standard. Virginity is a word that has a feeling of innocence, and unexperienced. If the person engages in certain activities that they feel have a great amount of "sexual significance", if you will, then it is up to them to decide whether they have lost their virginity. If a person doesn't view fellatio as sex, and he/she engages in fellatio, then then they are not a virgin. Of course, a person who engages in vaginal intercourse is NOT a virgin, no matter what they say, since vaginal intercourse is the basic definition of sex. (This, of course could bring up arguments, but there has to be a line somewhere.)

As I can see, most of you agree with me that vaginal intercourse definitely equals the loss of virginity (You'd be surprised by some of the things people argue.)

As for anal, it's difficult to tell. In homosexual couples, I would image anal means the loss of virginity, but otherwise, it could vary, depending on opinion.

My view on what constitutes a virgin is the same.

A woman can be a virgin and not bleed her first time having sex. This is because the hymen is often torn at some point in her youth without the aid of penetration; in addition, once properly aroused the vagina (including the hymen) is very flexible and can potentially stretch around the girth of the penis without tearing. At the same time, a woman can be experienced and still bleed during sex if it's rough or if she's not properly lubricated.

That is a hard question to answer and it have lots of different answers. You can be a anal vigin even though you have vaginal sex in a regular basis, the same goes with having regular anal sex and never experiencing vaginal sex, and being a vigin in most standards.

In my opinion I have two views of being a vigin, first, you never have any kind of sexual relations with someone else (of the oposite sex or not). Masturbation, use of toys or any other 'implement' doesn't change your 'status' you are still a vigin, it doesn't matter how much you know about the subject.

Second, you never had one 'modality' of sex, ex; never had anal sex, so he or she is an anal vigin. The person isn't a full virgin since he or she already has some kind of sexual intercourse with another person, it doesn't matter if it was 'only' oral, anal, handjob, and so goes on.

Everything but vaginal penetration, I think would be 'ye old' sense.

Now in today's world of sex toys, I'd still say option three.
