As of right now I'm fine with the way we're currently experimenting with human augmentations after seeing the
Deus Ex Eyeborg documentary. My guess is that human augmentations will, if they aren't already, start to be more regulated by the Department of Health and Human Services here in the U.S. It'll take us at least a few more years to see how augmentations will evolve, but I doubt that we'll be able to see augmentations designed to improve performance over a regular human body since most prosthesis today are designed to just help alleviate the disadvantages to those who have lost certain limbs. Military augmentations probably won't be seen until regular augmentations are common.
Then again, DARPA is crazy.

Built in blades would be nice too.
In the world we live in, it'll probably cause you more trouble than it's worth. I can imagine someone with that being stopped at the TSA and spending thousands of dollars cleaning and maintaining it just to use it once every so often for tricks like cutting an apple.

"god" would not mind, if carbon based lifeform stranded on a rock in space started to upgrade the design of flesh. I am positive to Augmentation, as long as you do not temper with the brain. :)
I wouldn't go around assuming what "god" (which?) would and would not be ok with, especially if your opinion in this topic is based solely upon what "god" approves of.
I'm curious about why you think only the brain is off-limits. Following your reasoning earlier, shouldn't brain augmentations be fine just as well?
