why the hell should CNN or America be concerned about it???
to attract viewers. more viewers = more $$$$$$$$$$$$$
Actually, from what I understood when my mom made me watch their report about it on TV, the main concern isn't just that Japan is making rape and 'torture' (their word not mine) hentai games in Japan, it's that it's been digitized and can be downloaded by, oh say, any idiot thirteen year old who wanders into sites that he shouldn't get on since well that kind of thing happens on the internet let's face it.
Now, I'm not saying they're right for panicking over this possibility of 'Oh think of the children!' because I do believe it is simply that, panic. They have learned of something that people can play, using just one hand on their key board, where the point of the game IE the way to 'win' is to rape women... That is not that great of a message at all let's all face fact there will be people up in arms about that...
All that said I honestly do not believe that, by having a rape fantasy game, or buying it, or playing it, that means you are a rapist, or you think rape is okay, or that you think women are less important than men, any of that... But there will be people who own or have bought such a game, and have ended up as a worst case combination of all three of those and it's a problem... Worse part is, banning that kind of content from the game isn't going to fix the problem, neither is controlling the problem. Hentai games, in my view, do not need to go through the same Code era that American movies went through...
Right, pointless rant over, I agree with most of the site that banning it won't solve anything, but I see what CNN thinks it's worried about when really they're going 'eeewww nasty sex ew ew and some of it includes bad things ewwwww!'
