It's not going to be banned. They are just saying that to appease foreign countries. Why would a country who made loli popular and makes money off it ban the product? It's like banning cereal. Pointless and stupid.

I don't think Japan qualifies as the creator of Loli. The practice of sexualizing young girls is prevalent throughout history and across cultures, even the term "loli" comes from Vladimir Nabokov's novel Lolita. Actually, that happens to be one of my favorite books and I have read it multiple times, but that's a bit off topic.

In my opinion, and as one who holds freedom highly, i dont like bans on basically anything, with a few exceptions. If the thing being banned negitively effects someone, and not just offends them, it should be banned. Loli doesnt negitively effect anyone, since it doesnt involve real children. However many people tend not to see it this way.
That is where the issue arrises. So, CP is illegal, and they want to make Loli, which is imaginary, illegal. Then why, do they not make anything with murder illegal? Movies, games, books, etc. I mean, it is showing someone die, right? How can someone say, "this is ok to be imaginary, but this is not"? The same could be said of furries. Its more or less imaginary beasiality. In my eyes it is hypocrisy.
If anyone, or you, want Loli banned, they had better also be complaining about furries, and other imaginary illegal activities depicted in movies, games, books, etc. No shows with murder or fighting. Martial arts and wrestling would have to go as well, imo. I dont like Loli, but i will defend it tooth and nail for other's rights to enjoy it.

First off, and I don't mean any offense to anyone, but I think this whole ban thing is pretty widely misinterpreted. It may have been altered since last I checked, but it wasn't exactly a complete ban, and it wasn't limited to loli. It's more along the lines of moving all manga and anime with even the slightest amount of ecchi to what would be the equivalent of a porn section in stores in America. And besides all that, the whole bill is extremely vague about what it means.
Secondly, I'm completely opposed to the whole thing. I don't think the intent of the bill is to be ban the material, but to deter people from buying it, which is a huge mistake. That sort of stuff is the only thing stopping the crazy ass otaku(You know the type I mean) who are into it from going out and actually doing something to a real little girl or boy. The same applies to any fetish or niche type of manga/anime/H. And another reason it's a terrible idea is, it would sink the country. They'd be killing one of their biggest industries.
And last, I won't go into a big rant about how much Ishihara pisses me off, but he's a hypocritical asshat. He has no right or ground to bitch about any of this sort of thing when you take into consideration the type of novels he writes or films he directs. It's all a bunch of screwed up rape porn, which is apparently somehow less detrimental to people than animated or drawn porn. And on top of that, he's just generally fucked up, and it amazes me he has such a following with the shit he says about the Japanese people(such as the people who died in the 2011 earthquakes deserved it), or how much he's royally fucked up their economy since he's been in office.
