Yes, it's the parents' fault. I mean, it's not like the kids pay for their games. They ask their parents. The parents should know what they're giving to their kids.

It might be a law within a law. The age of consent is very low in Japan, but it's a law based on tradition. The actual age of consent in Japan is thirteen, but each jurisdiction and prefecture has their own AoC which usually ranges from 16-18, similar to the United States.

In court cases the old, traditional law is overridden by the federal law, which is eighteen. *shrugs*

Yeah, the chart probably looks awkward because it was probably made by a North American, who had access to more information. The age of consent in Canada, is 16 throughout for some reason. It's 16... EVERYWHERE, unlike the states.

As long as the person is mentally mature(as in they think like an 18 yr old or older) it's fine. But 14 atleast. ATLEAST!

Oh and the reason parents/ mainstream media complain about video games/cartoons/anime being "too mature" for children is the constant assumption that it is for children and should be sanitized for the consumption of children.

Yes, you said it. Games normally are NOT for children and so aren't animes. They are for the mature audience. But people assume since it's cartoons, it's for kids. It's absurd.

I agree with this. Tbh, I fail to see why there should be any specific age for someone to be thought of as "mature", as maturity itself is very subjective.

Yeah, basically 4Kids is partly to blame for the whole "Anime is for kids" thing, because their Anime dubs were censored and toned down so much, that it's annoying.

I can't think of one dub that wasn't, in one way or another, toned down.

Well... if you are smart enough to actually be able to find the good stuff then I guess you would be old enough to watch it. Anybody with a computer could go to Google images and just search for Hentai. It really doesn't harm people much unless they already had a previous mental sickness or something. Even if people enforce a minimum age, people will still find a way to get past it. This is specifically about Hentai viewers so I'm guessing that they would spend a large chunk of their time wandering the internet and really getting involved with Anime and Manga. They probably know their way around the tubes and are smart enough to know what is reality and not to imitate it. The minimum age for Hentai viewers would probably be around 12-15 which is when people really start using computers.

12 for normal sex thingies.
15 for rape/incest etc.
18 for harder shits like guro scat animalism etc.

So yeah, ideally i'd say it should be a gradual process from softcores to the hardcores.

why do people make porn sites? because they want viewers on there site. your more likely to find teenagers on those websites than 18 year olders themselves. most adults dont have the time for porn. i think there kids at age 14 can handle looking at things like this

I'm for a 13-yr-old minimum age for hentai viewers, like R-13. At least at that age there's the cusp of the formative teenhood years that he/she can be exposed to really sensitive things and can think somewhat constructively of it.

But, if the "viewer" is younger than 13 yet he/she already knows what his/her genitalia is and what it can do, and was grounded in reproductive health class/seminars already (in my high school in the 90's they taught sex-ed to kids in 11-13 year groups), they can skip the minimum age limit.
