I don't think many of us take pornography as "truth"; in fact we know it is all staged. However, I cannot deny that there are some who fantasize about a pornographic sex life, believing it to be desirable.

Going by the topics seen in the romance section on Fakku, it is quite clear that many members hope to find true love, if they have not already done so, not just for the sex, even if we are exposed to hentai all the time.

I think the first time I watched porn was at...age 12, maybe?

I was sitting at home, browsing the premium cable package my parents had, when I stumbled upon the "Adult" channels.

I remember being like, "What the...oh, sex. Cool. *fap*".

Of course, being the genius twelve year old I was, the second my father came home, I was all "Look, dad! I found the porn!"

I watched porn for about two months. I hit a stumbling block with it after that. It took two incidents to convince me that porn was not that high on my "Lolawesome" list, and a couple of years of maturity to convince me that sex was not the highest thing on my priority list.

First incident was, at that two month block, I was so bored out of my mind with porn that when my parents were out one day, I shut all the windows and turned the living room TV to max volume, and just sat in my room listening to it. Then I decided it was stupid, and turned it off.

The killing blow was dealt when I was thirteen, at a friends house. His parents were out, and we were bored about what to do. Played some games, made some jokes, and eventually turned some porn on. About two minutes in, I lost interest, and suggested we play cards.

It would have made an odd sight, two teens playing cards and not even glancing at the moaning...whatever she was on the screen, to be sure.

First of all, let me say that I do not believe in abstinence only sex education. Porn, in the hands of a rather responsible individual is a very great thing. In the hands a retard, or 90% of children under the age of 18, it is not. Just like those Bourne movies they're going to want to copy what they see.

Never really cared about pornography that much. My parents are very liberal and carefree, so they didn't care if I saw naked bodies. Hell, I remember watching some sex scene in a movie with my dad when I was young and he didn't really care one bit. Back then I didn't understand anything but even then, my Dad never made a big deal about so I didn't care. I learned most of my sexual knowledge from textbooks and encyclopedias so i never had any twisted thoughts in my mind.

On the other hand, my aunt and uncle are really big conservatives so they blocked anything that contains sex or coarse language no matter the rating. Hell, my cousin didn't know what homosexual meant until he was 14 years old. I feel for him. I'm still wondering how the hell my Dad and aunt turned out so differently.

Also, pornography bores the hell out of me. I rather be doing something more productive that watching people having fake orgasms.

And yes, I'm still a virgin but I don't think about sex that much. I rather focus on other things in life.

Seems like a lot of generalization to me, I'm not saying that Porn cannot adversely affect young people i.e. can potentially distance them from society and the forming of real life relationships. Things will touch people in different ways, some violent films may cause certain people to replicate acts that they have seen, most will shrug them off.

There are other important underlying reasons that someone may want to perform sexual acts from a young age and getting involved in Porn, I personally would not advocate keeping people ignorant on the subject as humans need to make their own paths in life making use of all the information they can accumulate. Life is a rich vein of experiences to savor if these people feel that they are happier working in Porn then good on them.

The idea that porn "taints" children argument stretches back probably to the first pornographic symbols of our ancestors.

Anyone remember back in like the late 90's early 2000's, there was a massive backlash against anime, predominantly against Pokemon. You had all those people picketing stores that sold pokemon items, claiming that the "devil" was behind the whole show and all... It's almost like these people have a template to use on about anything they see as bad. The one thing you really have to be careful is that many of these people over-generalize, and even exaggerate information in order to get people to agree with them.

My parents never went over the birds and the bee's with me. My dad was in the army, just too busy (oddly enough, never too busy to put the belt to my ass when I deserved it or not, got blamed for quiet a few things my brothers did), and my mom is an uptight baptist... I've been looking at porn since like, 12 or 13. Oddly enough, the first hentai game I ever played was True Love, and I was like "Hey, I want to be like that!" As in finding true love.

But back to the point, do I believe that porn is tainting children? No, because porn doesn't "taint" or "turn" a kid into a twisted sex addict. Do I believe children are having intercourse at younger ages? Yes, I do. Why do I believe this? Because parents these days don't know how to discipline, much less being able to control their children. When I was 11, I couldn't be out past 8 pm, bed on weekdays was 9, weekends was 10, 11 if I was lucky. These days, I've seen 9 year old kids roaming my neighborhood at 9, 10 pm. Hell, I ran down two kids, 10 and 11, for tp'ing and than mooning me and my mom when we went to the front door, and my parents didn't press the charges, but they were stupid and tp'ed the mailbox and wrapped it really good to the point where it would have hampered the Mail Service, so the government did charge them with that... You want to know what the parents said when they came to us about this? That we had the wrong kids... I had recorded the mooning part, chasing and catching the two kids, and even after seeing that, they said we had the wrong kids.

Parents need to buck up and accept that their lil "angel" is really a lil "devil", and they gotta put the belt to them when they do something they really shouldn't be doing.

To put it down, porn doesn't make people twisted individuals, people make people twisted individuals. And the first step to attempting to fix these problems? As stated many times before, parents. If they would actually take the time to do their bloody jobs of raising kids, then perhaps they wouldn't have to worry about porn, sex, or the other problems that so many of the family critics force into the heads of parents that they need to worry about.

Well, when you put it that way, I guess it's hard to argue. Anyways,when I'm talking about porn, I'm usually referring to the non-animated stuff (but that's just me being too technical).

Ugh... so tired of watching people spout crap like this. I've been watching porn since I was 10, and I sure as hell don't try to go and hump everything that moves, hell I've never kissed a girl. I'm "old fashioned" when it comes to that, one night stands aren't my thing, there has to be some emotional connection of some kind, whether it's because I love her, or a friend.

As others have said already, if parents would suck it up and raise their damn kids we wouldn't have problems with shit like this. My parents never cared much as far as what I saw and heard (I played Fallout 2 when I was 8, a turn based RPG full of violence, swearing, drugs and sex), sure I swear, but I fail to understand the whole taboo about "obscene words" and all that anyway. I don't go around hitting/killing people, I don't steal, fuck everything that moves, etc. because my parents actually raised me and explained what's acceptable and what isn't. *Continues muttering as he wanders off*

The whole "cussing is bad" thing doesn't make much sense because most adults cuss and don't feel that it's a problem. They don't think it's anything they should change about themselves. (And it isn't.)

Parents will tell their 14-year-old son not to say "fuck," but a few years later, the son will be 20-years-old and visiting home from college, and he'll say "fuck" a few times, and it'll be perfectly fine.

What's the logic there?

I believe it is supposed to be a "sign of respect" for the elderly kinda thing. That idea of hierarchy is fucked up.

I am 23 years old, and I'm still not allowed to cuss around my parents, yet my younger sister who is 16, cusses around my parents on MANY occasions without any retribution. Hell, I got pissed one time trying to install a new oil filter, and was cussin up a storm, and my parents CUT THE POWER off to my room for a week>.> Needless to say I was late to my collage classes all that week as I have no real sense of time, so my body doesn't have that "internal clock" that most people have.

No offense, but your parents are dicks. How is cutting off power to a person's room a punishment? Reminds of a story I heard in a psychology class about parents who "punished" their son by sending him to school with dog shit in his backpack. That's not punishment - it's torture. I mean, what the fuck? What's the correlation between having no power and not cussing?

Anyways, I'm 22, and I don't cuss around my parents out of respect. That, and it'd just feel weird. I went 18 years without cussing in front of my parents. I couldn't just start saying "shit" and "fuck" once I turned 18.

Oh, you don't gotta tell me, though I prefer ass's, because Dicks can do it, but they aren't always dicks, ass's are just ass's because they can and will do things>.< But yeah, they can't ground me or like, send me to bed early or anything to punish me. Also, I wasn't doing it in front of them, they were gone when I started my lil project, and got back when I was at the height of the cussing.

Parents are odd. And to be honest, it didn't really affect me much, except for the clock, I just ran the power cord to the bathroom's socket for my computer:P

Damn Gendo. I'm really lucky when it comes to how my parents are, granted they never wanted me to start swearing, but I was never punished for it either as long as I wasn't being disrespectful. As far as my parents are concerned they can't expect me to not do something that they do, and they swear a lot, especially my dad haha, so eventually I began to also. Amazingly our cockatiels haven't picked up any words at all... but if they ever do, it'll most likely be buttfuck, fucker, bastard, asshole, jackass etc. I have a fun family.
