Racism/Sexism Isn't Okay If Its Against Straight White Men

I didn't say that was the reason why I dropped out of college or had low test scores. I was just introducing theories as to why Africans usually score lower on test scores compared to other races. If anything, I dropped out of college due to my mental disability. As for white men's entertainment, that makes up for about 80% of cable television.

Saw this, as a Swede I feel I have to clear some things up. Those who want to take part of the actual discussion in this thread ought to skip this wall of text. Or don't, you might learn something.

TL;DR, racist political party in Sweden are racist and other people are calling them out. Racists cry as they circlejerk on anonymous forums on the internet.

Jan Sjunnesson, member of, affiliated with and a profile within the Sweden Democrats(Will be called SD for the duration of this rant.) decides to hold a gay pride parade out in the suburbs, which have large Muslim communities (Not nearly 75% though, almost 75% immigrants; but woe and behold; not all immigrants are religious nor are all religious immigrants Muslim.) The sole purpose of this is to try and provoke a reaction from these communities that SD believe gives a shit about who fucks who in the ass. However, nothing happened. About 20 peeps showed up from SD, about 3 who was actually gay(Not surprising seeing as a number of SD tops express not only homophobic but actively anti-gay views.), they walked and no one gave two shits about them. They were very sad about this.

Now, of course there are some leftist, conspiracy-nutty, pseudo-communistic and simply purely retarded people that went apeshit over this debacle. However, none that matters politician or organization, including RFSL (Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Rights) have claimed that this is a display of racism and white privilege. They have, however, claimed that the Swedish Democrats are cunts for attempting to hijack the gay pride event to further their own racist ideas. There were no counter demonstrations as everyone involved was to busy actually attending the week long Pride Festival to give a shit about 20 racists actively trying to get beat up out in the suburbs, and failing miserably at it I might add.

The problem with SD is not that they by our standards are far-right. (By US standards still basically socialists.) Their affiliation on the right-left spectra is irrelevant. The problem is their racism, riding on the wave of nationalism and racism that is spreading in all of Europe right now, their popularity has nothing to do with their views. It's a purely opportunistic party, reveling in peoples misery and contempt due to the largest economic depression Europe has faced since the 1930's. I might remind whoever is still reading this about the effects from letting racist opportunist who gains support, not by taking responsibility but for blaming everyone who is an easy target, it happened in another European country, and the result was nazism.

All this to tell @cruz737 to stop getting his news about Sweden from shitty sources. Hell, while I'm at it I can also call out @theotherjacob and tell him that Sweden has had a right-wing government for the last 8 years, during which time they've effectively destroyed half a decade worth of thriving welfare-state.

I don't really see the word racist as an insult, as least not when used by a Swede. Sentiments such as "All citizens and residents should be treated equally and be held accountable for their actions" and "Regardless of your ethnicity, race or religious beliefs, you aren't above common law" have been deemed racist.

Nazism, and fascism in general isn't that simple. People being upset at an incompetent govt. and economic down turns are only part of it. To imply their isn't an economic reason to be upset at the immigrant policy is preposterous though. Then again, my views on immigration are more classic liberal leaning, immigration shouldn't cause a welfare issue, since welfare should be almost non-existent to very limited.

Also I'm not denying the existance of Homophobic/xenophobic/islamaphobic/ racist people in the SD, or general Swedish populace.



If something isn't specifically black, then it's "white men's" entertainment? Most current television isn't even aimed at men, unless it's prime time, and even that tends to be made for general audiences.

Statistics Sweden (Statistiska Centralbyrån) for that which is based purely on numbers. Not 100% how accessible the database is in English though. SCB is a government institute tasked with gathering statistics about, well, essentially everything that goes on in Sweden. Superb for checking up demographics and the like.

It essentially says "We distance ourself from this event because we(RFSL and Sjunnesson) doesn't share the same values, as shown by Sjunnesson when he has made several anti-gay remarks, as well as sharing racist content on the internet.** Our message is one of peace and love for all and we don't believe that Sjunnesson & Co. share that notion."

** The case they are referring to is from like a year ago when Sjunnesson was found posting a video online, with positive remarks. The video itself essentially consisted of a guy ranting on about how all Muslims are terrorists, pedophiles and rapists and should all be deported. Can't find the video now, sadly, as it has been removed from Sjunnessons facebook, youtube and blog.

Seeing as I live in Sweden my sources are mostly the news, here's a list of the papers I read on a regular basis, I try to keep it balanced from a political standpoint:

Dagens Nyheter - dn.se - Calls themselves "Independently liberal", Swedens biggest daily newspaper.
Svenska Dagbladet - svd.se/ - Liberal conservatives, rather right-wing but it's a good paper nonetheless, very professional.
ETC - etc.se/ - Very leftist, not that good. I mostly read it to get perspective.
Metro - metro.se/ - Shit, free newspaper that is "politically independent". Consists of 95% rewrites and only writes populist bullshit to feed their readers what they want. No investigative or critical journalism whatsoever. But it's free and I read on my way to work.

If I may ask for a single case of this being true, in Sweden. Documented. I've never heard of a case like this so I can't really say anything about it. If it's true it sucks, but right now I'm taking this with fistfuls of salt.



Oh, absolutely. It's not that simple, but it is part of it. And it's also perfectly legit to be upset about the economic factor that immigration policy brings, and no one denies that our immigration policies needs to be overhauled. Most people just don't support shutting the borders and deporting everyone who doesn't pass the "swede test" that SD wants to create.

I do believe the only way to be a racist or a sexist, is when youre in fact in a position of power. Thats why "normally" men being faced with sexism isn't a thing - and i say that because many men used it before as a kind of shield when girls shut them down, or said no to them. Also i have made many bad experiences, so my view actually isn't as rational as it should be. Also "Reverse-racism" is a thing that just isn't real. If someone from another race insults a white person with the reason that the person is white, its stupid and offensive but its not racism. The person is being insulted, but not opressed. Theres a difference.

But in this case, the person is in a position of power. Wtf, seriously. How could someone get that position at an University? It is sexist as hell towards guys! Kill all white cis males? Wtf is wrong with that person! Racism, and Sexism is never okay no matter against who!

What does it mean to be in a position of power? What influences and common notions are involved established social norms, and how relevant are they when it comes to law? Is all power structured (like govt. or representation in institutions?)

I think there has always been a lot of power in trying to appease women and get the female sympathy (and vote). Despite being historically "powerless" and not even having the ability to vote, how is that women got the 18th Amendment passed? (the one about prohibition on alcohol)

I think it's easy to not see men as victims of anything(especially for you, someone who ISN'T a man), as there are certain expectation of men, that which a lot of gender activist abuse and play up to present shitty narratives while obscuring many facts.

I'm not white, in fact I'm Latino and black. Throughout my time in academia and the "streets", I've seen many abuse the race card and white guilt for their own gain, socially and economically. You can argue that the white people (usually men) have more social capital, more legal representation, and all that sociology BS that white knights rave about. But to imply that there isn't power, even within "disparaged" groups is absolutely false. I can definitely tell that in the black community, there are those with powers, and they definitely abuse it.

It's one of the reasons why despite #blacklivesmatter being as big as it is, it never talks about Black on black violence or ignores traditional black homophobia.
