Religion - Islam - misinterpreted on the way?

I wanted to discuss this with many minds for a while now, and I believe I have gathered enough thoughts and opinions to start this discussion.
Does everyone believe that the Islamic religion has been misinterpreted or corrupted overtime after it's creation?
Islamic Belief -
This one is one of the most mysterious and most complicated religion I have known since I came across this in my life, it explains violence, punishment, rules that are immoral, and even things that goes against the ideas of peace.
However at the same time it explains the important lessons man needed to live with, rules that tells how to live peacefully, treating everyone kindly, wisdom of peace and that it explains how God is loving, caring, and it rewards anyone who believes in God.
So why is it so complicated, some of it encourages violence, while at other verses it encourages peace and prosperity ... it seems like as if the book itself is testing people which path one should choose and that path will result the award at the end of your life.
Why are there 73 sectors of Islam?
That is the most questionable of all I think. If Islam was so perfect and just, then why are there so many different groups with different beliefs?

I believe it is very confusing what path one should choose, because there are so many .. and to top it all off .. it was also explained that only, I quote "ONLY" one of these groups will be accepted into heaven. Although I am a believer myself, I find it extremely sad because the fact is, that these groups are also in war with each other to prove which group is more superior. ) Which I find very immature and stupid )
Why wasn't it more specifically explained which group or which path one must take to be accepted into heaven and which path the true path is? For a while I thought that this must be nothing more than a game/test to see who is smart and who is dumb, which I find the whole thing to be kinda, rather immature.
Here is an example -

However it is considered a sin to resemble God to any creations and it states that God is unique, he does not resemble ANY creation.

There are many more examples that goes against the requirements needed to be a full fledged Muslim.
That is the main problem, has it been misinterpreted on the way and became a confusing religion in our current timeline?
So much confusion and corruption and nobody knows what anymore, it seems to me as if nobody knows the truth anymore and are in inevitable doubt about their beliefs.
Also here is a random question for everybody-
What do you think on how they should sort this one out?

I never did much research in Islam, but it is comforting to know that has so many sects. Coming from a Christian back ground, the entire religon is so damn confusing that it's not even funny.
Just based off my experience, Christianity has so many sects in scripture that might as well do a 4 year degree to learn all of it. Orthodox, Catholics, Protestants, Latter Day saints, The Watchtower, etc.
What is the true form of a religion? I would dare say that there is none. The reason for this is that the original meaning of anything can be lost in translation, misinterpreted or just assumed.
In Islam, I recall that the Prophet Mohamed never wrote the Qur'an. His followers took what he said and made a book off it. It could be argued that the Holy Qur'an may not be accurate, as much as the Holy Bible may not be told truthfully.
To compare with the Qur'an, the Bible includes the book of Revelations. It is used to talk about the end of days, the apocalypse etc. The problem with Revelations is that it was never included in the original bible for centuries. Early Christians took the book as the ravings of a mad man, until someone proposed to look further in the book and evaluate it.
Just by scriptures alone, a Religion can be debated in what is the true form. The open endless of how ones read scriptures can make it debatable.

Can't really debate any of the stated, its all in how you take the teachings. Being raised Roman catholic pretty much any thing I do can be considered a sin. It falls on the individual to determine how they should be applied to modern living.

I agree that Muhammad ( S.a.s ) was indeed illiterate and that they created the Qu'ran based on the memories of what the prophet said, it took them a long time to finish the book after his death, however I don't believe that EVERYTHING is accurate as to people might have "added" a few ideas here and there just to fill the pages. ( I believe my religion is just and peaceful, however the interpretation can be very misleading and that is why I take my time to learn it's meaning )
There are many sects in different religion, I find that insulting because it means there will be no harmony between the sects and there is no way they can cope together, let alone everyone will agree on the meaning of the scriptures.
You are right, it is indeed a DEBATE as to assuming what the true form of religion is ..... maybe religion IS supposed to be one thing ... to believe there is only ONE GOD and that PEACE is the key to everlasting happiness.
I believe religion was formed to lead everyone in eternal bliss and harmony however there are greedy people who wants to change that based on their benefits.
We might never know the truth, who knows, maybe one day we will find out to see which is the truth and which is a lie ... I am not saying I have any doubt in the teachings I have learned ( which is no sect ) ... I just wanna know the truth in the end.

I don't belong in any of the sect, I decided to be a free-minded Muslim based on what I learned and what makes sense to me. I don't let other Muslims force their ideals and such on me.

Sorry but I don't give much fuck about controversy in religious scriptures anymore. I myself was a fan of Jesus, interpreting left and right, until I thought "Hey, what the fuck am I doing here? Isn't that bible controversy of the same kind as me discussing it on a porn forum..."

You see it as a misinterpretation but i see it like that :
All religions says that they are the only religion and that the others are false so that mean that the majority of the people aren't in the good religion (if there is one) . Worst than that each religion have sub-religions that has been created because people didn't agree on some points which mean that in the end almost no one is in the good religion .
The probleme is that if i assume that one religion is true , then all the other religions are false , then that's a fuck ton of bullshit created by humans which lead to two conclusion :
God is really bad at passing the message and don't care that most humans don't do what he wanted them to do which doesn't make sens at all . So the religious god probably doesn't exist .
And since there is so many religion bullshit created by humans then religion itself is probably bullshit too .

What I know that Islam have two main branches
sunnah (the biggest one) and Shia
If you could read this Amman Message
you will know these sectors are just opinions who doesn't harm the main believes in islam (and by the way they are eight + the traditional Islamic Theology (Ash'arism); of Islamic Mysticism (Sufism), and the true salafi thoughts )
Most of these sectors isn't different in their bases
they are different in the way they look to the Islamic laws which was mentioned in Quran and the hadith
to explain this I 'm going to give an example
When a muslim steal something his hand will be cut(According to quran Sura Al-ma'ida (38)))
But the Quran didn't show how much do you cut
do you cut from the wrist
from the elbow
or from the shoulder
this is the difference between these sectors or these opinions
and obeying one of these sectors is not wrong because it's just opinions ( and the disagreement makes our religion flexible in these rules )
and to be mentioned this Islamic rule (cutting thieves hands) was necessary in the old times because there wasn't jails , and the people wasn't organized - not like now - and in modern Islamic countries the punishment now is jail + fine ( but sadly in Saudi Arabia and Iran they still cutting thieves hands )
and this flexiblity make Islam ready for any changes in life
(and Just to be mentioned the link you have is the main site for a group of people called Ahmadiyya these people is misleaded by a person called Mirza Ghulam Ahmad who think that he is the mahdi ( a person who have wise and justice who leads muslims into becoming strong again ) he also thinks that he have some kind of special commencation with god !!!

to believe in angels

to believe in the Judgment day as the day of the end of this life
and to believe in destiny
if you did these things then you believe in Islam
to be muslim you have to do five things
1- to say and believe that allah is the only god and the only creator and muhammed is his prophet
2- pray five times each day
3- foast in ramadan
4- pay money to the poor people
5- Hajj
if you do that then you're muslim by saying and doing
and being a believer is the main point of islam !!
Now for the last thing
Life is only a test ( no matter how you look at it ) and your main goal is build this earth and make life easier for people who come after you and to achieve development and make the human society more happier
In other words god wants you to learn , think , build this planet

It is really not that surprising that Islam has so many different sectors, when you consider that similar fractures have developed in almost every ancient religion that still exist today.
It all comes down to matters of re-interpretation of ancient texts, as a language changes throughout the ages. Add to that, the adoption of a religion into a another country, and you will inevitably find that groups and individuals will begin to see the religious teachings in ways that differ from the original.
I have no idea how many variations of Christianity exist in the world, but I would guess it probably rivals the 72 sectors of Islam.
Unfortunately, you can tell a story to ten people, ask them to write that story down from memory, and you will probably see ten different versions of the story when you read their stories.

Ask me which sect I am in and I won't be able to answer it.
For me, there is 5 pillars of Islam, and 6 things you have to believe to be a Muslim, prophet Mohammed SAW is slave and the last messenger of Allah SWT, and there is no God to be worshipped except Allah alone, without any partners.
And I still try my best to follow what the Quran has told me to. That is all.
For the sects, I still don't understand what makes us Muslim have different kinds of sects.
BUT, I understand, the Quran might be interpreted differently by different types of groups, which created a conflict between us Muslims.
It makes me sad to see our brothers fighting against each other while we pretty much believe in the same thing.

I can safely say this applies to many American families. They just do what their preacher tells them to do, and not even question what they follow!
At least, in the case of American families, they probably don't give one fuck about Christian values! The ONLY reason some Christian families even go to church in the first place is so they could act arrogant to others and think they're spiritually/morally superior to them!

It is the same as to a lot of Muslims here .... one prays and believes he is spiritually stronger than the one who doesn't, even though the one who does question these things and wishes for truth which in my opinion surpasses the boundaries of spiritually.

Most of the chapters was written on papers , stones , bones and even plant leaves
when a muslim prays five times a day he must memorize Al-fataha and some parts of the quran (any part you want ) in order to pray
repeating these parts five times in the day ( and I'm not counting extra prayers )make the memorization process easy
I memorize two parts of quran ( it contain 30 part ) and I memorize them very good
repeating quran made them memorize it well
and the proccess of gathering quran was done after 20 years of our messenger death
so it didn't take much time , and by the way a lot of people had the quran in their memory , so the chance of a having a mistake is very little .
Easy ,
1- Do you pray for god only ??
2- do they tell you to take the bless from someone hand ??
3- do they tell you to hit yourself by somekind of tool ??
Sunna don't do the last two things because it's forbidden to harm yourself and take a bliss from a normal human like you .( and I think that most of the Indonesian are from sunnah )
And I still try my best to follow what the Quran has told me to. That is all.
For the sects, I still don't understand what makes us Muslim have different kinds of sects.
BUT, I understand, the Quran might be interpreted differently by different types of groups, which created a conflict between us Muslims.
It makes me sad to see our brothers fighting against each other while we pretty much believe in the same thing.
Well , it related to the law in your country
if your country obey the islamic rules in marriage, divorce , punishment and social relations
then it must follow some opinions or sects
for example
I'm Jordanian
and according to the jordanian law we follow the Hanfi sect ,
but I asked my sister ( she's a lawyer ) about it
and she said it is wrong
because the jordanian law follow many sects
what means that we don't follow hanfi , malki , hanbly or the shafay ( these are the main sects for sunnah ) but we follow them all at the same time , taking different opinions at the same time
the main problem is between the sunnah and Shia is
in some historical events
(shia believes that ali ibn taleb - god bless his soul - is the main imam and we should follow him and his family , but the sunnah believes that we shouldn't follow them because they believe that god sent the message ( Islam ) to Muhammad only !!)
although these differences between us and them
they are Muslims , and we share the same ideas when it come to quran and islamic laws
these things - in my opinion - happen because of the corrupted governments in the arabic world and Iran
these governments separate us and make us fight each other in order to maintain their positions at the top
In egypt for example , there has been some attacks on churches and they accused some extreme Muslim groups of doing these attacks ( this happened before the Egyptian revolution) , it ended with Muslim boys doing a " human chain " around these churches
in other parts of the world Muslims live peacefully with others and with each other they don't have these problems like us
in my opinion , these corrupted governments will use anything to divide their people and I mean "anything" to keep them busy
It is the same as to a lot of Muslims here .... one prays and believes he is spiritually stronger than the one who doesn't, even though the one who does question these things and wishes for truth which in my opinion surpasses the boundaries of spiritually.
people should have a simple rule
when you pray you do it for yourself , not to show other that you're religious
and , god there is so many of these people who think that they're better than you because they go to the Mosque or helping other peoples

Just like the bible, they started writing the bible after Jesus's departure and they also wrote it based on memory and also a few words of their own, and that was years after Jesus left.

when a muslim prays five times a day he must memorize Al-fataha and some parts of the quran (any part you want ) in order to pray
repeating these parts five times in the day ( and I'm not counting extra prayers )make the memorization process easy
I memorize two parts of quran ( it contain 30 part ) and I memorize them very good
repeating quran made them memorize it well
and the proccess of gathering quran was done after 20 years of our messenger death
so it didn't take much time , and by the way a lot of people had the quran in their memory , so the chance of a having a mistake is very little .
