( Which is tyrannical in a sense )
One must ALWAYS research it and correctly interpret the meaning of each and every meaning in the Quran.
Personally I believe the Quran IS a holy book, it is just up to us to study it's meaning and making correct conclusions on it.
1400 years ago ... there wasn't much vocabulary like today and God had to send the message the best he could to his messenger.
People these days, especially my fellow Muslims have been accepting every bullshit out there ... my Grandpa ( R.I.P ) always studied the religion and found peace, which is what we need to be doing, but we are not.

Has Islam been corrupted/ misinterpreted? Probably and I'd say that's a good thing because when it comes right down to it Islam in it's purest form is a threat to anyone who enjoys western style freedoms.

I don't want peace established by a religion that establishes said peace by killing or converting everyone who doesn't follow it.

I don't want peace established by a religion that establishes said peace by killing or converting everyone who doesn't follow it.
And I get what you are saying by that .... because religion is a form of Tyranny in a way if it reigns over the world.
