@Takerial
I didn't twist your words. That is exactly what you said simplified down.
Thats your problem, you're simplifying something that wasn't meant to be simplified. Not only are you simplifying it, but you're putting it in terms of black and white. Would you call 99.9% purified water dirty just because of the .1% that isn't purified?
Physical acts alone cannot determine sexuality. Sexuality is a psychological concept and thus cannot be determined by a physical act by itself.
According to this statement you made, a person getting jerked off by someone of the same sex doesn't have homosexual tendencies so long as the individual is thinking about the opposite sex. If you disagree with that, then you are clearly contradicting yourself.
Masturbation isn't a homosexual act because you are not touching the same sex genitals, you are touching YOUR genitals.
So basically you're saying that you have neither male nor female genitalia. We're talking about the general population here in case you haven't noticed.
If you want to go by the purely physical aspects of it, it would be a narcissistic action
I'm very glad you mentioned narcissism into this discussion. Its those very narcissistic tendencies that prevent most people from even considering masturbation as a homosexual tendency. If the narcissistic tendency was eliminated, then you would only have two types of people:
a) People who refuse to masturbate
b) People who continue to masturbate but accept the idea that their actions have homosexual tendencies.
However, a good balance of narcissism can be good, otherwise we'd have more rapists in the world (I know this sounds ironic, but just go with it).
But again, you cannot view things from a purely physical concept like you are doing.
You got me all wrong, I'm not just basing it on a physical concept, I'm just making the physical act apart of the whole picture of sexuality.
And again, when you throw in concepts of gender and transexuality into the picture, it gets even more complex.
Tell me about it...
@Kensouke
I still don't understand the necessity of percentages.
Then lets just agree to disagree. I'll take my more specific perspective, you take your more simplistic one. Neither one is right or wrong when you apply those perspectives to yourself.
it seems like this is just something that you're using to cope with your own sexuality
It may seem that way to you, but that isn't the case. I'm not trying to cope, but to understand my sexuality better. Coping and understanding are two different things. I already coped with my sexuality a long time ago. However, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little confused as to where I exactly stood in terms of sexuality. I get aroused by women, but I don't want to have actual sexual intercourse with them. I'm not attracted to men in general, but I don't mind seeing cocks in porn or touching my own junk for sexual pleasure. I also don't get very aroused by Yuri (but it makes great eye candy). It may not have confused you, but it definitely confused me. I've never had sex with a man or woman, so in my case I can't just call myself Hetero or Homo. So instead, I go by percentages.
I can tell you this though, I can get erect simply on the desire to get erect. I could look at something that didn't provoke any reaction the last three times, but make it work out whenever I decide too. That is, I don't require any "meat sausages" or hand stimulation to stay erect nor get erect, hence why I didn't understand that part of your explanation either.
Most of us desensitized folks would call that a gift. I can only wish that I had the same stimulative response I had when I first started looking at porn. Just staring at my classmate's backside was enough to get me hard back then. Those days are long gone unfortunately...
And the "no one alive is 100% straight" most definitely needs more backbone before you can reasonably come to that conclusion and stand by it to the grave
If you don't agree, then take the gay test I posted up (or any gay test of your choosing). Get a 100% straight or a 0% gay and I'll eat my words and adopt your more simplistic way of looking at sexuality. If you refuse to do that, then I honestly don't know how else I can add more "backbone" to my claim.
Saying something like "If you have straight sex you're still not 100% straight"
By the standards I made, no you wouldn't be. It makes you dominately heterosexual, but not 100%.
I tried my best to explain the results of your "research" to a few of my companions who happen to have the same simplistic views and narcissistic tendencies as I do.
There, I fixed that for ya.
There are people who are ruthless and completely immoral, considering it's actually a mental condition.
I was with you (on this paragraph) up until this statement. You never met those people personally, so you can't claim that everything they did was Immoral. I also can't help but notice that you didn't mention complete morality. If you didn't mention that because you believe no one is completely pious, then you must also accept that no one is completely immoral.
Throwing all those to compare to something as controversial as sexuality just seems rather foolish
Those concepts I threw in were just examples to explain why I think it is very rare for there to be a 100% in anything. If you believe in the notion that nothing is perfect, then you should at least understand where I'm coming from with this. Oh and by saying sexuality is controversial, you are indirectly acknowledging that there is not "black and white" in this area, just shades of gray..or in other words percentages which I know you despise.
In my reasoning, as you'll find in many people's reasoning
You're making an ad populum fallacy (google it). Trust me when I say all radical theories such as this get shut down by the majority.
With that said, I didn't label myself because labels in general are just nonsensical, especially if it's something people make a big deal out of. I don't look specifically for straight hentai or any other type of specific hentai.
Then why even respond to me if labeling isn't your thing? Clearly you must be into labels since you just see yourself heterosexual with no homosexual tendencies.
"If I'm not straight then nobody can be!"
Thats not how I'm looking at it and I don't appreciate you taking my statements out of context. What I'm really saying is that "Everyone is Homosexual/Heterosexual with homo/hetero tendencies.". It doesn't get any more simple than that. I won't say that you're in denial of having homosexual tendencies, but I will say you are misinformed by what human sexuality is all about.
Jerking off =/= Sucking yourself off =/= Having sex with yourself.
I agree with this statement. However, what they do all have in common is that they are sexual behaviors.
