The 12/21/2012 Doomsday prophecy.

Before I start off, let me just clarify that this is not to argue whether this "prophecy" is real or not. I raised this topic with hopes of knowing why this certain Doomsday prophecy has garnered the most attention out of all the others so far. (Refer to this link for a list of doomsday predictions.) Before the 2012 prediction, there was Harold Camping's (failed) predictions, but it didn't seem to generate the same buzz such as this. So much of a buzz that it forced several people to go in preparation for the coming end. (An example of such preparations.) The film "2012" might have cemented the legacy of this prediction, but it was already spreading before that. Even years before, as far as I know. And with three days left, some people are beginning to become restless. What do you think?
