The term "master race"

I've recently found myself becoming less and less comfortable with the growing use of the term "master race" on the internet. "PC master race" is obviously the most common but I've noticed it creeping into other places lately and it genuinely bothers me (not a whole lot but enough to notice). I can't tell if I'm just being overly PC (lololol pun) about it because this is how terms get recycled from being loaded but at the same time it's Nazi terminology and most people use it basically in the same way the Nazis would've. I don't see a lot of irony in people shouting "PC master race!" as a chant of superiority over other gamers since they genuinely mean it 95% of the time. Obviously the stakes are far lower than the extermination of minorities and the disabled so I probably shouldn't give a shit but it always gives me a "that's not right" sort of feeling. Anybody else care?

It does bug me, partially since I'm not white and as such probably one of the people whom "The Master Race" would want erased from the face of the Earth.

I also hate it because it stems from this really stupid "clubhouse" mentality that a lot of pop culture consumers have been developing for the past few years. "You're not a real gamer if you play Mobile games!" "You're not a real anime fan if you only watch Attack on Titan!" "You're not a real Comic fan if you just watch the Marvel movies!" That kind of attitude is bullshit.

Also, y'know, the whole "Nazi" thing. Not cool.

The sad thing is, Yahtzee coined the term, but he was using it ironically. The very attitude that the dolts who use "PC MASTER RACE" was what he was making fun of in the first place.

I genuinely don't care either way. It's also not a term that I use, for a lack of reason to use it. It just doesn't come up in my vocabulary on a day-to-day.

I don't find it as much disturbing as I do find it marking. It makes who uses it kinda a top grade asshat, a sorta master ass, rather than race.

The phrase itself doesn't bother me but it's more so how often it's used. I don't mind when it's occasionally said as a joke but it does get annoying when it's constantly used for shitposting.
