Recently I had an encounter with some friends that made me a bit upset and confused.
While fighting over something that was probably stupid me and my guy friend fell on the floor only to have him fall on top of me, then of course at the prefect moment my other guy friend walks in thinking the situation was sexual when it wasn't! His response was to high five my friend and shake his head at me and call me nasty!!
Although I know he was joking, social never really is. If a girl likes to have sex she's nasty but if a guy likes to he's perfectly normal cause it's natural. I just don't think it's fair and justified!
This is nothing but a guess but maybe since with guys sex is expected wheareas the public see girls are to be more reserved so it comes as shock, but that's just my opini on.
Yes its a double standard but it works both ways. Let say that person walked in on a scene like this
Spoiler:
The result could have been the guy is less-masculine because he is being dominated physically by a woman. The woman could also be seen as a strong feminist on one side or a bitch/dominatrix/("ball buster" the right phrase here?) on the other. Just by that example alone its clear societal standards are silly things.
Indeed, society standards are different because the reaction is different from people to people. Me, if I'm walking in I wouldn't judge either way, because I wouldn't know if it were sexual or not. And as far as determining if a girl's nasty for wanting sex, I WANT my girl to want to have sex. It can be so tiring to be the aggressor all the time. For me to walk in home one day after work and my girl lunges all over me, sliding her index finger over my chest and going all "Honey~". Yeah, that's quite comfortable at times.

Ahh thank you, the friend who fell on me feels the same way actually. I would like to be the sexy aggressor every once in a while.
I embrace this, to be honest. I'm a little hornball. If I do/say something that seems suggestive, it's probably intentional. I wasn't this way always, I used to hide it, instead.
But to be honest.. I'm just going to be myself, and who I am, and I couldn't give less of a crap what's thought of me.
I used to.. worry myself half to death about everyone's opinions. Societal norms. Expectations based on my gender... Just.. screw it all.
Personally.. I think the more women who stop giving such a profound fuck about how they're perceived.. the more progress we might actually make.
If you don't like the message you're hearing, ignore it.

A good friend of mine told me that I should do exactly what you just said, so I did and honestly it feels really good to not bother yourself with the unhelpful or negative opinions of society. Although I just started and it's still very hard it does seem to take a wait off of your shoulders when you do.
The only thing I wish I could change is the way the older generations feel about this topic. Opinions that are based off of years of stupidity bother me the most, and a lot of people who belong to the older generations are as stubborn as they come.
hhmmm............ interesting. well sex is sex being man or woman sex is great! something easy to get addicted to. and there aint no problem likeing it. hell id want a girlfriend that lusts for sex. tell that friend that called you "nasty" he's a PENDEJO!!1! (spanish for DUMBASS)
There is also the biological aspect to consider. in nature, monogomy is rare. in most species, the males try to mate with as many females as possible, while females can only become pregant from one male at a time.
Just like how in the old times how females can't vote, that's how the world is.
Just be yourself, who gives a fuck about other people's opinion.
There will be someone who will stand up for you and back you up.

The man that acquires you as his woman, will be quite the lucky one then ;)

Here is an important point. I was about to say the same, but alas Mr.Shagg got here before me.
I mean, just think about it. If you, as a male, want to spread your genes as much as possible and get lots of offspring, what should you do? Mate with as many as possible, of course.
However, when it comes to females it won't work that way. A female can only carry one child at a time, usually, and it takes 9 whole months before you can make another one. Not to mention both the physical and mental strength it drains. Sometimes it can even be dangerous; Dying in childbirth wasn't uncommon in the past. So what must a woman do to make sure she gets as many children (that survives long enough to get their own) as possible? She must be selective of her mates. Imagine if a stone age woman had sex with everyone she met. First of all there's a big risk some of the mates would be complete genetical failures, but then there's an even bigger risk that the mate won't be around to support the child, which is imperative for its survival.
THAT's why women that f*cks around are frowned upon. It is also why rape is socially stigmatized -- but that's another subject.
If a key opens many locks, it is a master. if a lock can be opened by many keys, it's a shitty lock.
seriously though, i supose it's because women hold most all the sexual power, and men are jealous of that.
Let me quote myself, since I've already expressed my views on this bullshit:

Except a pussy is not a lock, and you dong is not a key, just a fucked up sausage that was left out in the sun too long.
Frankly that "Aesop" is getting waaaay too old.
We're not living in the Middle Ages and girls aren't trophies to be "won" or "sold" in exchange for an alliance.
...and no, dominance and the enjoyment of dominance games in relationships/sex doesn't validate it either in any way. Just because someone can enjoy being submissive doesn't mean that it's OK to treat them that way by default. I also wonder how many "M" girls would be OK with their fetish if it was forced on them, instead a kink they can live out with their chosen partner.
A pussy is a sex organ. So is a dick. Playing with them brings pleasure. That's it.
Play nice! Play Safe! (...give head and for God's sake, if you fuck someone up the least you can do is give a reach around).
...or Uncle Flaser and his Bitch Brigade will bring the wrath of Feminist Pimps down on ya ass!

For reasons I mentioned in my earlier post, it's not that weird at all to see women as "trophies" or "locks", and men as "trophy hunters" or "keys". If women are biologically supposed to be conservative and selective with their sexual partners, and men are supposed to spread their seed as much as possible, then it's not a bad analogy at all.
Of course all of this doesn't matter much in today's society where there is such a thing called contraceptives, but it's always good to look at thing from a biological perspective. It's not always a big male conspiracy for dominance.
Yeah, the whole double standard is kind of ridiculous, although it also effects men in a certain way in that they are expected to be dominant in sex...and if they like to be submissive instead they are seen as less manly
I wrote a paper on this, and my basic idea in the paper was that sexuality is a very individualistic thing. Like for example, some people are ok with casual sex and some aren't. No one should feel forced to act a certain way sexually because of peoples expectations imo
I'm no psychologist or animal behaviorist, so all of what I'm about to say may or may not be total bullshit.
I usually think of it as some kind of alpha male mentality. You know, the whole tough, macho man that's in charge. For guys, one facet of being "that" guy is the ability to attract attention from the opposite sex, aka, being sexually attractive. The best way to gauge that is, of course, by how much sex the guy has. If you have a dude that's banging chicks at an exponential rate, guys look at him and say "yea, he's an alpha dog".
It's trickier to say about the girl's role, though, since I'm A) not a girl and B) not that knowledgeable when it comes to girls. I'm guessing there's probably two different reactions a girl can get; the guys' reaction and the girls' reaction. Guys who are sexually active themselves probably don't find anything wrong with a girl who gets around. Those who do, chalk it up to whatever societal and/or possible religious views they may have been brought up with.
Girls' reactions, though, are the harder one to analyze. Withholding anything that society may tell them, it's probably the case that girls who themselves don't get a lot of sex are the ones that are more prone to call out the ones that do. They're basically switching responsibilities; instead of attributing it to themselves for a lack of sexual attractiveness, they attribute it to the other girl for being too easy to get, for being a slut.
That's assuming, of course, that the girl with no sex is actually trying to put herself out there and failing. For those who don't get any because they choose to refrain from it, once again we can chalk it up to their societal and/or religious views. Regardless, both types assume that having a lot of sex is wrong. So they shy away from it, and chastise those who do.
Once again, this is just what I was able to spew in about ten/fifteen minutes of thinking. Probably not entirely correct, but eh... it made sense in my head (for the most part).

I don't think it's fair. Some would say women hold more sexual power over a man and then some would even say that men are more perverted than a woman. In the end I think it's bull. One sex shouldn't get encouraged about doing something like that while the other sex gets knocked down a peg for doing the same thing.

Well, you are right. It's things like these that make men look like assholes and girls look like sluts, all because people look at a situation before knowing the full details. This also comes from a society that breaks everything into a certain class based on what someone is, rather than who they are.
For instance: I'm a boy (I use the word 'boy' instead of 'man,'despite being 18, because I know I still have some growing to do before I can say I am a man). If I say I really want to have sex, no one would pay me much mind because they'd just think that it's the testosterone in my body speaking. If a girl says she wants to get laid, she is looked at like she's a whore.
And then we have sexist commercials like this one:
What's the difference in saying 'It's not for women' and saying 'It's not for [insert race/religion/nationality here]
My point is, like everyone else, double standards suck. I wanna see a future in which women and men are both on the same page with everything, from sex to pay checks.
