Wincest, nekos, pregnancies: Why is it appealing?

I fall into all the categories. I'll take pretty much anything except Vanilla. My favorite category, by far, is when a doujin ends with a sudden change in attitude by either the guy or girl, in which they get so involved in the passion of the moment that they change their minds from normal to mindless passion and choose to have kids on the spot without thinking of the consequences at all. Massive bonus points if they actually show the aftermath.

Without going all Freudian, what is the appeal?

I can base my own interest in the "raw instinct", "animalistic", or "completely lost to impossibly hardcore passion" aspect. As in, the passion is so totally raw that it's no different than two animals going at it on instinct. "Animalistic" is the key word for me.

For extra specificity, the players in the drama start out in a normal state of mind as old childhood friends who had an affection for each other but never got a chance to express it, which they've harbored in their hearts, but by the end, they're so desperately heated in the moment that they simply don't care enough to worry about the consequences. That's pretty killer.

It's like when you've been in love with a girl you've known since grade school, and you never forget her despite having a totally separate life for a decade afterward, after college and everything, and in one chance happening you spend the night with her--and in total spite of everything else, your brain just short-circuits with passion and instinct, and you aren't even thinking of risk by that point. All that matters is the pent-up emotion that's never gone away being released.

But what about other categories? Is there anything you know about your own preference of why it's appealing? I'm not talking Freudian stuff, just your own impression of your tastes, and if you have any idea (or even an educated guess) of why you prefer that particular category or subcategory over others.

I think, for the most part, you hit the basic point as to why it's appealing to most people. We like/want to let loose, but can't due to societal (or other) restrictions, so in turn, we have this form of media that feeds or satisfies that little voice in the back of our heads saying, "YES! YES! MORE!" I know the first point you hit on is dead on to my own interests when it comes to those categories.

I think the other part of it is simple curiosity and interest in the things we/I either can't touch or see in our own world, thus we want it. For example, you love cats, but you would never for the life of you actually screw a cat (least, I hope not). However, if it was a cat-girl, it seems legit, because they have the human look to them that makes it seem ok, while still retaining that animal's characteristic that charms you.

Or maybe tentacles perhaps. The thought of something feeding your lust in a variety of ways while you slowly succumb to your own desires till there's that need for nothing more then feeding your sexual appetite is... interesting, or perhaps appealing, to say the least.

This, too, falls into the same idea. There are different types of cat-girls, fox-girls, etc.--some have paws, some don't--some have the intelligence of a human, others not--it varies.

But really, it's about something that's meant to be treated with care just not being treated with any care, and removing something instinctive from the restrictions of having to think about it, or consider the consequences of it.

If you've ever been so high as to forget about everything else, it's easy to relate the idea to that. The past and future aren't even considered, just the present moment because the pleasure is overpowering in its raw intensity. That's why I think cat-girls and other types of that sort are so appealing. The mentality is totally different, since it's removed from all of real-life restriction.

I mentioned this in the futanari poll, but I believe I find it appealing because both parties have feminine figures and there's the added bonus of penetration. Now, while it's bad form in reality to rush a relationship (and a sure-fire way to end it practically instantaneously), I do like the idea of becoming so impossibly infatuated that I can skip every bit of that. I like the idea that is, in reality, not a good one: To meet a girl one time, and then to have a mutual infatuation that is so impossible to resist and with just the right amount of desperation so as to do away with all of societal norms and just screw like animals. No regard for consequence for not wearing protection, no thought of consequence, just a raw desperation of simply wanting to feel high right now.

That's what it really comes down to, considering that I'm used to (and not really enjoying lately) the courting period of relationships, as well as how delicate they necessarily have to be treated. To do away with all of that is my fantasy, so a lust-driven, animal-like experience is a real high.

Wincest: I admit, I own a coupla wincest doujins/manga. Quite honestly it's the art (for some reason better artists draw wincest in many cases), and maybe that little bit of danger/general boner-inducing wrongness.
Neko: Ask a furry, but personally, it's probably the "Okay, it's not beastiality, right?" argument. That, and cat ears look so dang cute on a manga charachter when done right.

I guess for the first two it's all about the forbidden nature of the contact. Wanting what we can't have and such. It's exciting to imagine being able to do what you want against the rules of society whether it is sexual or not.

For me I find stuff like Yandere and Pregnancies to be appealing. I can't exactly explain it, but since the beginning as far as I can remember I've always been fascinated/intrigued by the thought of a girl who falls so in love with you that she'll do almost anything to have you, to the point that she would actually in a way "rape" you (though if it was me in this situation it wouldn't be called "rape") and cause herself to be pregnant. Wincest: Usually related people are way too familiar with each other's foibles to really be attracted to each other. The rarity of related people actually meshing emotionally as well as physically in the real world is what makes it so exciting to read. It also explains why we're mesmerized when an incestuous couple who don't want to separate makes it into the news.

Kemonomimi/Monster Girls/Aliens: We are biologically driven to seek out mates who are not TOO close to our own genetic makeup. The lure of the exotic. Nonhumans that possess human primary and secondary sexual characteristics and are close to human norm overall trip the "lure of the exotic" switch. Take an attractive human and add cat ears & a tail, maybe change the pupil shape, and they'll register more strongly than they would without the changes. The hardwired biological drives would identify the neko as "potential mate; within genetic parameters, more different from me than the unmodified human, therefore higher preference as a mate" independently from conscious thought.

Pregnancy: Not my cuppa once they begin to show. But that's just me.
