east asian pack was already installed, language settings are what you said they should be, the only thing that I can think of that might make it go wrong is that Im running windows xp. but I dont know if that has been a problem for others.Try running the game without installing it, tell me if it works.

and windows xp is obviosly not a problem, there's no game that i downloaded until today that i didn't manage to install on my XP.

opening the sys40 thing gave me the interface menu, i dont have any save data or game files so there was nothing to do there.

So the game is working fine.
You click on advance to begin a new game.
Probably your iso got corrupted and it's giving a error during the installation.
Redownload or use the recovery record on the rar file(if it have), if you get a disc with no CRC errors you will probably be able to install it too.

maybe i wasn't clear, it has a black screen and some pop-up while loading the sys40, so there is nothing to click on, and i don't believe you can start anew without the actual things ON the screen (if there is a way to start using the file menu then i guess i might be able to bypass it...)
can someone post a link to a download that they know is uncorrupted?

This one is not corrupted, it just your download that got corrupted during the downloading process. (if it did, of course, not sure yet)
Just to make sure... You have your DirectX updated right?

i had sengoku rance on here at one point, but i dont remember if that was before or after my most recent C: wipe...

I don't know if anyone has posted this, but the translation has actually been done for a month or so now (the last version is 1.0d), so to any who are using the Alpha patch, I would suggest updating it with the new one and see if that fixes any of your problems.

Yup, there's no Sandbox mode.
This game is before Sengoku RAnce, So I think they never thought about adding it.

At least I got to play with Nina for like 15 turns. She one of characters that has really low hp but after buffing her hp up a lil bit and boosting her counter she'll be nasty XD

So clear all the stars and you unlock Chaos mode, right? Sorry if I'm just reiterating. And also wanted to ask again if anybody knows what the "Secret Diary" does?

so of course my computer crashes the day after i get it working... and now when I download the part files and extract they aren't a .iso they are like md5 or something...

Nope, beat the game on hard. Clearing stars just lets you use more characters in chaos mode.
