doable, but a major pain in the ass. Recruit everyone you can before you head out into the Nation phase. Use the range advantage, characters that have high evade, and so on. The walkthrough should give a good explanation of the combat and its simple enough to use after you play around with it for a while.

Anyways, yes it's pretty much doable, but it takes a wee bit of luck. Best tip I could probably give is DO NOT invade Shin Juku early;

I guess the main problem is for me with BBA is that I played Sengoku Rance first which is clearly the superior system being made later of coarse. The whole management thing is such a clutter and how the turns work it does make me want to drop it and have from time to time until I pick it up again to try to finish what I started.
As for tips, I simply suggest a restart. Without having generics your gonna be low on cash with a bunch of main characters nomming on your money. They give you enough time to not be invaded by all three if you visit the SU. Though I havent finished I didnt research who was worth recruiting for generics and now find myself over extended with my army during payday which is a pain since I like to push push push each round.
But all in all in national. Get the ability to build buildings first ASAP. Then get Touma Kanata, then invade PPG or do both. (In that time making sure to visit SU unless you enjoy going on a three offense war.

Yes, visiting SU is a must unless you enjoy an uphill climb. If you have trouble with money, you can keep borrowing money, there isn't really much of a drawback seeing as later on getting BP would be simple if you can keep up the macro (sorry for using an RTS term).
Another yes, getting Touma first hand is really beneficial. However, I do not agree on letting Shin Juku going independent. Shin Juku is actually a very good source of experience if you have high damaging middle ranged to long ranged characters. If your characters of capable of one-shotting the undead monsters before they reach you , your characters would level up to be power houses and will help your conquest greatly.
Another thing to do on first turn would be to talk conquer Yokohama, then suppress the Curry Museum. This will allow you to build a Curry House in each area you conquer and will be a good source of stable income as you progress through the story. Building them will be expensive at first but will be more than worth it in the later stages of the game. (Remember, if you don't have enough money for it early on, you can always increase your loan)

I always prefer to micro-manage everything; like each region I have should have at least 1 ally to minimize its decline.
Although true that getting Shin Juku is a great place for Experience, it's a bit risky. the people you send there may be too exhausted to fight an important battle (That has happened to me in more times than I need to learn my lesson). But getting Shin Juku when you have a stable position and a decent number of Allies is a safe idea.
When I said that I haven't taken Shin Juku even now (I got Touma though), I was just lazy and preferred to conquer other areas.

That depends on you the less generics you have the less you have for law. The less law you have the more potential for riots. Spreading out your named characters can possibly hold thme off but they are needed for battle.

Just recruit few school boy/girl generic for starter. If you can, recruit two "unique" generic characters from Sensouji / Sanzou's group at District Chapter. They have good Law to keep public order high.
In National/3rd Chapter, I suggest PGG males and Hokkai females. Hokkai males are good but pay cost is higher than PGG. Later, go recruit Kansai F&M because they are very great for both income and public peace maintaining.
Also if you want to make thing easier, try to obtain 5 stars clear on few characters. They will become stronger later once you make a new game.

Another thing about the generics you recruit through school chapter: talking to them once makes them loyal for the rest of the game. They will never leave you due to lack of loyalty.

I was able to download it. Now if only I could install it. I changed my locale language but it's still a bunch of gibberish, and every option I click seems to dead end.

Silly me. you guessed right. I was going regional instead of system.
Curious thing though. I had to switch Regional to install Sengoku Rance. But once installed it played just fine upon switching system back to English. BBA won't play unless my system is set to japanese.
A general question for the game. How do I identify a unit's loyalty? I dont see a loyalty stat anywhere but apparently they abandon me forever if I let it reach zero. So how do I determine which units most need a pep talk?
Incidently, I hate things like loyalty mechanics that make units abandon me. Any cheats to eliminate that mechanic?

loyalty only kicks in national chapter and its pretty easy the green bar that usually is full begins to slowly wittle down or fast

How do I install it? I downloaded everything and mounted the file to my pc, but then when i try to run the setup and click the first option, when i see the 2 lines of percentage installing after a few seconds it will give me an error and stop installing. How do I fix this? I really wanna play this game...
