Waaaaaahhh Mei's my new favorite. She takes Mizuki's spot for favorite route. That was so sad. I thought it was a little odd that the name wasn't told when he said it the first time.

well i download the new improved version and it say it nid activation code,i also used the crack for the new version --, inside the folder there is no edelweiss.exe

here's the fix

If you downloaded the "improve version" then download the mediafire link in post above you and paste it in the directory.Then the crack should work fine.

Personally, I do not get why some many people are THAT hyped up about this game. Sure, the story is above average, way better than most VNs that sells solely on sex. But the first half of the story is repetitive, and we rarely got a good look at another side of a character, missing out on one of the most important aspects of route choosing. Plus, people seemingly change their mind completely without proportional reasons (by people I mainly mean Hisae), and the concepts and stories aren't mind-blowing or awesome enough for me to not care.

So will someone enlighten me just what they see in Edelweiss that I don't? Personally I think that if one can be excited about Edelweiss, then that person will surely go crazy over something like Fate/Stay Night. Or is it just my bias?

though, it would be fair to say that the light mood and humor are good pull factors for the casual reader. moderate length + shallow light (decent) story may have counted towards a greater audience than emotionfests.

EDIT: the raidy example was the baseline example of hype: even something not really good can be 'hyped' because it is available in english (and available to english speakers. english, the language which the people in this forum use for communication)

Asking why people like certain things when you don't is useless. No matter what they tell you you're still not going to see it. Also, I highly doubt that anyone would give a reason other than the usual's such as art work, sex and story. I guess as with you I just don't see the appeal. I wish I did tho, because I wanted to like this.

For me the story was lacking a little compared to the epic VNs such as Utawarerumono and F/SN and as I mentioned it before I didn't like those three male side characters which ruined a good bit of the game since they are with you 80% of the time.

I do think it has a lot to do with being spoiled by the aforementioned VNs. After you have read the best there is everything is going to seem to be lacking some aspect(s).

One of my most recent example is the over hyped in Wanko to Kurasou. Too much hyped for a game that even the company went bankrupt with only 3 games that even didn't sell well or well known by people..... the scenario is TOO generic, you can find that kind of scenario anywhere, even in animes and mangas.

Just because there's people who enjoy crap like that it doesn't mean that there aren't translated games who lives up to the hype they recive.

I'm sorry, but Lightening Warrior and Pretty soldier had hype? When the fuck did this happen? Never once have I seen anyone who have said "Omg best game evah" or recall anyone saying "I leik can't wait for this awesome game" for those games. I might have missed it, but I think the general consensus of those games were they were gonna be mediocre and they were.

I can't think of a single VN in my eyes that is just a pile of shit that anyone thinks is awesome. Anyone that matters anyways. A retard will find watching paint dry awesome or if it's their first VN. Can any of you really think of a game that you despise that someone is a fanboy over?

Hype is usually justified, or at the very least is almost. Games like Kira Kira, Princess Waltz and many others are above average and have a shit load of hype, but that is just leading credence to hype = good game.

This isn't to say that there are games that are totally over hyped and are below average. Shuffle is a prime example of a game that everyone wanted the translation for, but failed on delivery. Myself included.

Sometimes when I hear about the current translations that are going on I facepalm hard because they're doing some awful thing when they could be doing some of the epic shit, but no. We get suck my dick or die, clearly a VN that is plot driven and well worth the effort.

i had absolutely no intention of denouncing edelweiss for not living up to the rave comments posted in this thread. i was merely posing my opinion: you are in a english speaking community, games translated into english were released, what else can you talk about? some might like it. some might not. those who didnt might not have posted. and those who did would have. what appears then is a picture of hype(activity/YES THIS IS NICE opinions multiplied by some fraction of the total forumers around).

This is the part where my Ironic statement goes too... MANY epic VNs that have an epic story, whether it's about action, romance, comed,y etc that really shines with their scenario. But I can't help but realize that the majority of "big" translators, sometimes translate the non epic and IMHO "non main stream" VNs, leaving the "real" epic ones to the small translation groups that is obviously so slow and will probably be abandoned after 1 year (for example: Tomoyo After, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, To Heart 2, Little Busters, G Senjou n Maou and MANY others)

One of the examples of non "epic" VNs that's going to be translated is the "Da Capo" series. This series is SO OVER "MILKED" that even "CIRCUS company" themselves is going to make ANOTHER sequel just for ONE character... and a certain Translation group will translate it only thinking about joining the "Milking Wagon"...

I totally agree with you. Not being able to fully enjoy a VN/anime/manga/wateva shit is entirely my loss. Ignorance is bliss, eh?
