Sweet, I'll get on this (as in the the first Umineko) as soon as I finish or get close to finishing Fate/stay night. Appreciate the upload. I've heard a lot of great things about this series and fortunately I avoided the anime, so I haven't been spoiled.

Well, there is that voice and sprite pack for episode one. But, it's only for episode 1 so I'll have to pass.

I still didn't start to read this series but the main reason the game is so highly rated on VNDB is obviously because of the story / entertainment. So I would say that the story is at least 9 / 10.

I still think I'll go ahead and forgo the the voice/sprite patch. After all, Higurashi still worked very well even without voice and I'm sure I'll get over the sprites.

My god, if mangagamer able to release both deardrops and harukai otome this year, 2011 will be the year where more than 10 vn got trandlated.

That would be good but don't get your hopes high. I'm very positive that these games won't be released this year. If mangagamer releases anything, it should be Ef.

Sorry for necroing the thread (and hence, late reply) but if other users have the same question this is probably the answer.

I'm currently playing Umineko no Naku Koro ni (started it today) and the save file for it using the english patch is a file named "ons.cfg" in the folder "[WH] Umineko English". Since I'm pretty sure that the english patch for Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru uses the same engine I assume that the save file will be the same.

Try removing the file from the folder (put it anywhere else) and run the game to see if you'll still have your previous save files.
To me the file is 1 KB so that should be normal. Do what I said to test if it'll work.

If you still didn't read Umineko no Naku Koro ni I wouldn't recommend you to be reading this one. That's because this game is a sequel.
